30 FPS? Will you fix it or refund time?
Unacceptable, not again!

The point is, it SHOULDNT BE LOCKED, right? If a company makes a game with high requirements, we should be able to enjoy the game to the fullest extent.

If you buy a high-performance car, would you want to drive it knowing that it could only got a certain speed limit because the engine came with restrictions?

Black Flag, Dead Rising 3...I've managed to get them unlocked for some time on a 980 and the difference is HUGE. Have you actually played a game that crawls from 20-30 fps to past 70? With enough artifacts in the picture it makes a big difference.

yeah.. dude.. its all psychosymatic. you see the number down in the corner of your screen say something and you think thats what your processing visually.. its not.. the "smoothness" is more about your refresh rate than the fps. if your system refresh's the monitor image out of sync with the frames a second it will look jaggy and not smooth.. READ THE ARTICLE!! "10fps can look smooth under the right conditions"

Do you know what the word, psychosomatic means? that word relates to an illness aggravated by something that is perceived. I think we're talking about video games here?

i first heard it here on the forum, then as I played it I could tell it didn't look too smooth, then I turned on the Steam in game FPS monitor and it never left 30fps

once again, I am not asking for a PC only game. There are tons of console games that are locked at 30fps but can go as high as you want on PC like skyrim skyrim, The console versions of Toy Soldiers pretty much every last gen console game, but they can do 60fps on PC.

So if you already had an engine that can do 60fps (Cold War) why would you lock it back down to 30fps in the next game? it makes no sense whatsoever

and what do you mean different definitions of a AAA game? it was made by signal, published by Ubisoft, which makes it a AAA game coming from a AAA company.
I can't possibly know why anyone chooses to do what they do. If they can change it, they probably will. If they can't, then they wont. I think you should probably ask for a refund if it's upsetting you this much.

Oh, its not upsetting me really, its that it shouldn't be done and that I know my PC can handle the 60, and its MUCH smoother. I am actually rather enjoying the game right now.

No it is not, my brothers PC is rather crappy by most gaming PC's standards and we both play War thunder. He barely gets a good 30 fps while I can get constant 60. the difference is gigantic.

I can tell whethere a console game is 30fps or not just by looking at it, and as soon as this game started I could tell This was at 30fps too. It is not very hard to tell the difference honestly, and higher FPS makes for much smoother gameplay.

I thought the point was: we got another fun game to play on steam. Apparently i'm in the minority for thinking that "is the game fun" is the most important feature.

That is always important, and is a key factor. Now I am not saying I will refund for non-60fps, no. Thats a stupid as saying a game is bad for having bad graphics. But the point is they could have made it 60fps, and I know I can handle it, so why not? all it does is improve the game

:points: i gave you all a link.. read it.... and psychosymatic means "simptems caused through no physical means other than preceived in the mind" or. .. its all in your ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ head. you THINK you can tell a differance.. so you can.. but if you actually learned how to set your ♥♥♥♥ up.. you'd learn otherwise
Damn, what is so many plebs doing here? No one can tell the difference between 30 and 60, yet why can I see noticeable stuttering with 30 on many games? It's factually better. Higher FPS means the display is updated more often. Which means more responsive and tighter controlls due to lower input lag. Those that say it's not important only show other how laughably ignorant they are to believe the "cinematic experience" or "can't see more than 30FPS" bullcrap. PC can already do 144FPS and the noobs will still tell you with a straight face that 30 is ok. OH, really? What's next? No need to have higher than 720p resolution because 1080p isn't noticeable?

Console games with FPS locks is one thing, I can enjoy them, on a console.
When it comes to PC, we should expect a decent port which is optimized to the new platform.

Anything that locks below 45 fps is below average imo.. On a great gaming system you should have smooth animations & gameplay. Don't defend a lazy developer whom didn't even took the time to properly port this. If you like your 30 fps, it should be an option and not pushed to all the players.

All those fanboys defending -> :steamsalty:

You seriously expect people to take "medical" advise from you and technical advice, when you cant spell a simple word like symptoms.

On the whole 30v60 debate 60 fps is objectively better, and the whole it's more "cinematic" shtick is just PR. Given some games have to run at 30 (just look at that need for speed game that came out a few years ago if you uncapped the frame rate you literally broke the game) but that is due to incompetence more then anything else.

I can play a game all day at 60fps, however if you force me to play that game at 30fps within an hour I will get a headache. I go out of my way to tweak my settings in games to make sure my frame rate never dips below 50, yet if I have to play a game locked at 30 without fail I will get a headache.

Bob the Boomer Aug 13, 2015 @ 12:06am
Stop pulling numbers and stats to argue semantics, the fact the game runs at 30fps makes it unplayable simple as that.

rationale it anyway you wish the fact is many people wont buy it due to the cap or get a refund, simple as that and no amount of stats will make ppl think different

Well if you're schooling us on a word, it helps first of all to be able to spell it correctly, right?

And as many people already have, you can tell the difference in FPS, especially with lag.

Set my ♥♥♥♥ up? I have an i7 5820k sli 980s with 16 gigs. I'd say it's pretty set up son.

also, to those saying that there is no difference between 30 and 60fps:

do not tell me there is no difference in smoothness. at that point you are just flat out lying

Good luck if you drink the Kool-Aid that Ubisoft pours regarding 30 FPS being "cinematic".
The fact that we are constantly upping the ante with higher GPUs, higher CPUs, 4k, UltraHD, monitors at 120hz, etc, 30 fps is one thing: a limitation.

There is a HUGE difference in panning the camera at 60 FPS, along with movements with other objects within the frame.

If you play a game like Hitman and you walk into a scene with 1000 NPCs, your gpu is obviously stressed and your framerate may be affected on lesser machines. When it dips past a certain point, you can immediately notice a difference.

Now, no offense at all, but I suspect that those arguing in favour of there being no difference are most likely those who have hardware limitations themselves. Treat yourself one day and buy a 970, 980, 980ti, etc. It is a world of difference...
