Every time you try to do something smart, it will be seen as dumb when it inevitably doesn't work because everyone else was on defense standing in the choke instead of taking good angles on the defensive side of it or they'll be playing defensive offense and never even trying to engage the enemy. It actually is dumb, because smart things in games like this most often hinge on having a team that can capitalize on those actions.
I mean, trying to do smart things in a dumb lobby can be good if you can communicate it and they are receptive, but most often you just have to find a way to save them from themselves. That's an uphill battle and will far more often fail, but if communication fails it's the only way. If multiple people immediately start off with their superiority complex trash talk while I witness them positioning like ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and not putting out any pressure, it's a lost cause.
In a game with 80% of the people below the skill level of what someone would imagine a true Bronze III rank should be, 80% of the people in any given match are going to be clueless unless the devs acknowledge that reality and find a way to skim off 50-80% of those players and put them in their own secret queue.
That's the solo queue experience in just about every game I've ever played. That's pretty normal since the matchmaker cannot read your mind and give you perfect compatible teammates every time, that's just not a realistic expectation if you really believe it should be how it goes lol.
