launcher not opening but going straight to game

I want to open the launcher in order to turn on the new experimental Shader Compiling setting that was added in season 2, but I cannot seem to open the launcher by itself no matter what I do. Has anybody else faced this issue and found a fix?

Here is a possible solution, open the game's properties menu, go to installed files and then verify the integrity of game files. Worked for me and I hope it works for you

put this in the launch options to enable the new shader mode
-PSOCompileMode=1
