Why are some heroes Overwatch Copies?

I am so disappointed about Winston 2.0 (Hulk), the squirrel girl having half of junk rats kit, Iron man having every ability Pharah has, Black Panther is pretty close to genji but ill let it slide, too many copies no originality.
Its not just a hate comment, i genuinely want your opinions on what they should have made them be like!, for example Hulks entire thing is... well.. smashing, why is his ultimate Winston ultimate instead of, idk, grabbing a massive slab of concrete in a huge circle infront of hulk, if there are enemy heroes in the way they are stuck ontop of the concrete, and hulk can chuck the slab in any direction exploding it dealing massive damage to both the ones on the concrete and whoever he hit them with, or can just chuck it off map. That sounds more hulk like to me than just.. slapping them away from a melee character?. And iron mach should have been cooler than just Pharah 2.0 but i have no idea how he could be done better, IDEAS WELCOME FRIENDS!

the closest they get is having an ability that is the same + playstyle that is similar. Hulk isn't much like winston, and iron man is only like pharah in the aspect that he flies and has an AoE attack. Nothing else is the same.

the closest they get is having an ability that is the same + playstyle that is similar. Hulk isn't much like winston, and iron man is only like pharah in the aspect that he flies and has an AoE attack. Nothing else is the same.

Hulk can jump slam, Hulk can shield?, Hulk has same ultimate, only difference is that he becomes bruce banner when defeated and has a pistol instead of a nipple pleaser.
As for Iron man he lacks originality in general, he doesnt do any of the stuff he does in the movies and comics, just... shoots a rocket, then big boom ult. But i agree in general.
Im just upset hulk is a copy of winston instead of being badass, the only marvel guy i liked and its a knockoff :(

Zenyatta was my primary healer in overwatch, and Mantis plays a lot like him, and she's got Anas sleepdart too. Rocket plays like Baptiste. And Jeff heals everyone in front of him simultaneously like Moira.

A lot of the players likely picked up on the game faster because their Overwatch experience transferred over and it reminds me of Overwatch before they put it on a deathspiral when they started balancing for esports.

I'm considering picking up tanking again, any suggestions for someone that used to main Orisa and Reinhardt?

Hmm that makes a lot of sense, this is more or less what i wanted to see in the comments thanks for your thoughts on the matter, and i can definetly see the similiarities and no i didnt know they worked on overwatch before, huh... anywho its not like i love overwatch or anything, i was just disappointed with Hulk and Squirrel girl, sadness. Hopefully they remake Hulk to make more sense.
As for the recommendations i never got into rank in OW, i just played for fun, and my tank was Roadhog, i tried the few vanguards in the game and they all seemed kinda terrible, only Thor seemed actually tanky, the others just kinda soak a few shots before succumbing to the inevitable.

Same reason a lot of the Overwatch heroes were Paladins copies when that game came out. And a lot of Paladins heroes had skills and tools from Global Agenda.

I believe we call that confirmation bias (you want them to be ripoffs because it allows you to cry and whine, so you go out of your way to make it seem like they are.)

@Hajile I would say Dr. Strange is the closest thing to Reinhardt right now with his shield he can put up. Magneto is similar to Orisa in some ways, though I think he's closer to Zarya in how he plays

Orisa doesn't have a good match for abilities but Peni Parker has her survivability and annoyingness.

I genuinely like the similarities and don't think they are copies at all. Rocket's heal orbs are like mini moira orbs but the rest of his kit is entirely different. I don't get winston vibes from hulk at all, in fact he's more like a melee version of dva with a different kit but similar 'small' mode as bruce banner. shark heal is like moira heal but infinite, and nothing else in his kit resembles anyone else. its made picking up these characters so much easier while still being vastly different.

Hulk has some of Winston, some of Dva, some of his own unique stuff.
And overall the kit is pretty reasonable for hulks lore powerset when attempted to transpose them into a some what of a balanced hero shooter. Stop trying to think you some genius cause you see inspirations between the two games.

Honestly I'm having more fun playing rivals characters than ow2, even Hulk is more fun because he can hang on the walls and his ult has an ult that lets you grab the enemy for a crazy CC. Winton is just monkey jump on the enemy zap melee bubble, with Hulk you have infinite jumps and if you collide with the enemy with your jump you CC stun them, he gets cool shields, insane CC on E and cool clap ranged attack.

Thor is a heck of a lot of fun, as someone who was/is a Rein main in OW2, Thor is probably my favorite tank to play. With the constant economy of earning Thorforce by clobbering someone in the head, and then spending them for both damage and temp-health. Thor is pretty durable.

Not to mention his Ult is pretty neat. Being very akin to Doomfist's

Agreed I am pissed they made Psylock a clone of Genji from Overwatch instead of making her based off of Psylocke in the comics.
