can't buy lattice :(

I have repeatedly turned on and off steam overlay like recommended on both steam and game. I have uninstalled and reinstalled both steam and the game. I have cleared my cache, verified my files multiple times, checked to see if driver has been updated and still nothing. I don't get an error code, it just infinitely loads and that is all! I installed the game on Epic games and the store worked instantly (but you know all my hours are on steam so im not buying on epicgames) so its definitely a steam issue (i hope its not just me)

I just wanna know if they're aware and working on it, i'll be patient, i just hope im not on my own on this one, seeing how everyone appears to be getting their's fixed with the solutions I've tried already...

Someone on Reddit just solved the issue for me and it was so much more simple than I thought... Are you on your admin account on PC or on a different account? I switched to my admin account and opened the game, the overlay worked instantly!

I have marvel rivals on epic games, and am unable to buy lattice. Anybody have a fix?

Indeed, it does not work, because the game cannot open the overlay (check this by pressing Shift+Tab in the game. If it does not open, then you need to read on, because the game wants to open a window for writing money from the Steam account, but it cannot, because Steam _specifically for this game_ does not allow you to open this window :)
In my Steam settings (right-click on the icon in the tray (next to the time)) in the "in game" section there is a checkbox, the overlay can be opened by pressing Shift+Tab, but there are two such checkboxes and the second one is in the game properties. Let's go: library, general, Marvel Rivals, right mouse button, properties, general, "enable overlay in the game"

That's it! The game can open a window for writing off funds from the Steam account.

This one worked, might be since i had alot of crashed and i was trying out different settings so some of us might have turned this off but in steam general ingame settings it shows as overlay is enabled.

I was having this same issue and after many, many attempts to get it to work, I noticed I had FRAPS going and once I ended the task, I was able to use the overlay as normal and purchase my Lattice. Hope this helps!

Launch game in borderless window 》alt-tab back to steam, click 'view' and click BIG PICTURE MODE 》alt-tab back to game 》click the store where you usually get stuck at and wait for the esc button to appear 》alt-tab back to steam, should display the paying section.

This worked for me when all else failed. For my daughter actually on her account, im admin so i had no issues. Hope this helps

I've found a bandaid fix for this, if you go to customer support, in the top right click on the search icon, write in "unable to top up", scroll all the way down and click "still not work", then click on [Here], it will take you to their own payment site, then on the left you can log in with your user ID, then pay with PayPal or a Credit Card and it ended up working instantly for me

Try right clicking the game in your library and going to properties, make sure the in game overlay is turned on there as well, this is what fixed it for me

switching to admin sign in worked for me! thank you 💖
edit: i wanted to add that while my own windows sign-in is an admin, i needed to be signed in as the ORIGINAL administrator account for it to work. basically, if you have to type in your password every time you launch the game, it’s NOT the sign-in that will allow for the steam overlay to launch. i’ve never had this issue in any other games, so i think it has something to do with marvel rivals’s game files and permissions built in.

Hey try running steam as administrator it helped me ive tried all the other stuff such as overlay and even uninstalling only worked when i did that

hey, ive had this problem for the last few days and i just figured out a way to make it work even with the problem. if you launch steam in big picture mode, launch marvel rivals and select the thing you want to buy, you then just have to alt tab back to steam in the big picture mode and you can make the purchase. hope this helps

I have read this forum and literally tried everything that was said. One guy suggested it was FRAPS and well well well. Once I uninstalled it my problem was gone and I was able to buy lattice.
