Removing mouse smoothing = Banned (Marvel confirmed)
Seriously, imagine making a game in 2024, putting it on PC and locking mouse smoothing. Mods on the official discord are stating the following, "I can’t confirm this for you, I’m sorry. I would err on the side of caution and assume it is bannable".

Marvel support response:

Dear Player, as the official game team, we do not encourage or support players modifying client files to achieve functionalities that are not supported in the current version. We recommend that you patiently wait for future official support. Additionally, regarding the method of modifying the client that is currently being circulated within the player community, we will be implementing restrictions on such practices in future updates to protect the game's ecosystem.

if i get banned is there anyway i could get my account back if i were to remove it? i want to do it because my aim is good but im still missing shots and all that, and i really love this game but its making it not fun to play when the aim acceleration messes up my aim.

This one moderator just don't know, that's it, so he errs on the safe side of caution. that doesn't mean it's bannable. Another discord mod actually wrote that optimisations via the settings.ini were okay. In my opinion they def won't trigger bans for that, but let's hope at least some official words from the devs, and them adding a mouse smoothing toggle in the game options.

You can play on an alt steam account, but they might trace your main somehow and also ban that. I removed the code from my settings right away after seeing people asking about this, I'm not risking a game ban on my steam account after all these years lmao.

Yeah they don't know and dont bother making a statement about it, even tho if it's a bannable offence we have the right to know now before the damage is done.

The discord is being asked this question all day the past 3 days and still not a single statement. Until we get an official "Its okay to disable mouse acceleration", you're just risking your account, and steam account with a game ban.

I DM'd some dude that works there on disc, and also emailed their support team for a dev response either directly back to me or to make a public statement anywhere about this and if the option will be in the setting in game in an update rolling out soon.

Yea i agree with you for sure, but the discord mods just aren't in the know, they aren't even official community managers i believe, so not even sure they actually forward the feedback to the dev team. I guess better being safe than sorry for now, and wait for a statement. I guess they must be seriously busy/overwhelmed atm with the aimbot plague spreading since a few days so mouse smoothing prolly an oversight. We def seen better communication tho (Blizzard usually reliable for such infos)

i mean if youre stupid enough to run mods of ANY caliber in an online competitive game of any nature then yeah enjoy your ban. i dont know why or when this became a hard concept to grasp but unless the devs put out something that says THESE THINGS CAN BE USED then dont mod at all. its not rocket science.

It's not a mod, are you slow?

I dont think theyll be allowing us to remove it, back to OW for me until the day we can disable it. Clown decisions.

Yeaa .. expected. Although like he said "currently being circulated within the player community", it's so widespread even along with YT videos that i highly doubt there is any risk of a massive ban for this, until a statement / update is issued.

they should focus more on the actual hacks that are already in and getting through their anti cheat

Skill issue. Game runs fine, no need to mod it. No modding is going to fix your lack of skill, lol.

The only one who's slow here is you. Imagine claiming to be on steam for years and still not understand how privacy settings and steam levels work.

Because they don't change any way the game is played, the only 3 things ive seen are, custom skin mods (client side only, games like league of legends have had this for years), fixing the badly optimized game and getting higher frames (again as been done is csgo, valorant, cod, and many other games), and disabling mouse smoothing (which is a thing hated by 99% of gamers, and is legit an option in every other game). so it should not be bannable
I like the horns in your name OP. I think i'll borrow them.

Lol turning off mouse acceleration is not modding in any shape or form it is literally a option in every game to date in the settings menu, probably a oversight that rivals did not add the function in settings, it is just adjusting a config file that is there to be adjusted.

Example if i'm not in game and don't want to launch or something is broken but i want to turn off my shadows i can access the config file and turn shadows from true to false.

Dont be that potato

Strange that "every" game has it but Marvel Rivals doesn't and as stated, you're not allowed to modify your files. You're saying it's not moding, yet you have to modify your files to achieve it. What do you call that? WELL you see it's not modding, it's modifying. Modding implies I'm hacking or cheating. Modifying means I'm just changing core game play files.

What was so hard to understand?
