Smoke Screen Achievement Help

Edit - Got the achievement. Literally no different than any other match I was in. Could not tell what was different for when it finally popped. And in the one it finally did, several of my KOs came from actually pinging the opponent with the smoke grenade, not from bullet damage.

Hey, can anyone who has the achievement clarify what is needed for it. Do you need to be in the smoke, or does the enemy have to have to be in the smoke? I've done countless matches where I defeat way more than 3 enemies who have been affected by the smoke grenade, but I never get the achievement after the match. So I'm wondering if they have to be actually inside the cloud of smoke for the 2 seconds it is there because it really appears that it isn't good enough to have simply been affected by the smoke and marked red.

I have also tried the different game modes. I know achievements can't be acquired in the AI matches, but apart from quick play I tried getting the achievement in Competitive and Conquest as well with no luck.

And while I'm asking questions, does anyone have any tips on getting Squirrel Girl's achievement as well? Her special is terrible. I'm lucky to get 1 kill, let alone 3, before the squirrels just bounce off in a direction totally away from the enemy. She is my favorite character, but I swear she has the single worst special in the game.

For smoke grenade...I udnerstand it this way, you put enemy to low hp throw grenade and kill enemy after with range attack(if you kill them with smore grenade, that doesnt count), while you dont see him and he is inside the smoke..require few tries

For squirel girl I tried to do it today, but yea one is doable, ideally it would be if only hit them would satify, but nope....

If enemies have tanks and healers, I would say its pretty hard to get

For funny reference...enemy loki steal my ult and got double with it :)....

I got squirrel girls achievement but it didnt pop neither in game nor on steam, i clearly saw 3 ult icons on kill feed and announcer said thats 3! so i wanna believe its bugged? (Cuz steam completion rate is literally 0%)

Maybe that's where I'm getting hung up. I have done it where I ping them with the grenade and it kills them and I still think of it as counting towards the total. I'll wait until I play a team with no healers and try again.

I find it funny with Squirrel Girl watching helplessly as the Squirrel Wave barely dents the enemy health and the healers instantly clean them up. Then I get vaporized by Scarlet Witch's special immediately after, leaving me green with envy for an effective special.

Where I ended up wasting a bunch of my time was thinking that since you could complete daily challenges versus the AI, I thought I could do achievements against them as well. And getting the triple against AI is actually pretty easy since they stay in a tight group all the time. And I saw it where I got at least 4 with the special and still no pop. So then I looked through the discussion boards and saw people saying that it only works in matches against human players. Which is a huge bummer, because generally against human players, if they're in a group it's because they have a healer working on a tank, making the measly squirrels effectively useless.

Still my favorite character, but here is hoping they change her special down the road.

For squirrel girl try to wait till they are grouped in a small area and then unleash tippy toe.. its only a good ult if they are boxed in.

That's the idea, but its ricochet is wild. Sometimes it works well, other times it seems like it catches a random pixel and decides to veer off into the sunset. The worst I've had yet is someone playing as Groot on my team activated a wall literally the moment I used the special, so they instantly shot off the exact opposite direction of the enemy. Good for a laugh, and is part of why I think I'll never actually get the achievement, lol.

Yeah i was in a door way and it literally hit the frame and ran behind me, i died after.. its pretty average as ults go.

For squirel girl, my best try was whne enemies were all low hp and in one spot and I had literally guaranted 3+ kills with it, but enemy luna ulted right after I ulted so I got 0 gg :)

Btw for the smoke grenade one, I highly doubt you must be inside the smoke when landing kills since, when you throw the grenade it push you opposite direction there and you most of time cant even make it back to smoke in time....

So for fun reasons went ranked and got triple with squirel girl and her utl(it even stated I got 3 kills with ult when pressing tab), and didnt get it,...

So either bugged or you cant die before you get triple(2nd/3rd kill got when I was ded from it)...hard to say

I'm almost 100% sure Squirrel's ult is bugged and has to kill 3 enemies with it's initial wave to count for achievement. Everything you kill with each bounce will not count.

That seems like the logical take on the Punisher's achievement. But the wording is weird, because it says land 3 KOs amidst the smoke. Which because of how much trouble I've been having with it, I started wondering if it means that I would have to be amidst the smoke, instead of the enemies, but I literally can't even reach the smoke before it dissipates because it launches me backwards.

Well I'm wondering if it also means that the squirrel stampede has to be the thing that lands the final hit to count as a KO. I know that sounds like the obvious answer, but as I've been completing other KO objectives in this game, just about everything else only requires you to assist in the KO. Because I've had it with the squirrel stampede that I see 3 or more KO prompts, but no achievement. And because of how weak the special is per hit, it seems highly unlikely to ever actually get the final hit 3 times with it. Even squishy heroes survive being hit if they have more than half health.

I'm starting to think the big thing is landing the final hit on each character. I did Iron Fist's achievement yesterday that simply requires 3 KOs with his special. And I did it in Conquest mode, that team deathmatch style mode. And I swear I didn't get the final hit with the 3 KOs I got, but I still got the achievement. So maybe I did, because after that I was trying for Wolverine's, and while I got 3 KO prompts, the 3rd one survived the special but died immediately after from a couple of slashes, which wasn't enough to get the achievement. So the majority of the damage was attributable to the special, but not the final hit.

I should mention that I'm only trying for the achievements because it can unlock several hundred of the blue currency in game. Which since I don't want to spend any money on this game, getting achievements would allow me to actually unlock skins for free. But I would appreciate if the game's descriptions were clearer and actually stipulated the kind of KO you need. Because it is very random it seems when you actually need the final hit or not.

In case this can help someone :
In the game I got the achievement, I did 2 final hits with the smoke grenade plus 1 ko where I hit the opponent with the smoke grenade and someone else got the final hit within a second. So my advice would be to try and hit low health opponents with the smoke grenade.

Idk if they changed it, but when I was doing it killing them with smoke grenade didnt count(since it dmg them first and then there is smoke), so they wont be killed inside smoke that way, but I may be remembering it wrong etc.
