And the game has an indicator for when you are on critical health, it has a very distinct sound it makes. It's how I know when to use Venom's shield
But even still a sound queue isnt going to let me know im being shot from behind.
Game has a huge sound notification when you hit around half life, and a very obvious sound effect when you are critical health. There's also screen flash feedback when you are being shot. Most supports will also whien about getting shot. "Don't mind me I'm just dying here! - Rocket"
How are you not seeing and hearing this?
You already look at screen all time, so reading+screen shaking while taking damage, or seeing your ally announcing ultimate timer etc. is more easier than trying to focus on single voice cue.
Worst part of game sounds is the fact that there's so much useless fluff voices which do not contribute to game itself, which cause almost all voice cues being drown in mass.
Subtitles fix that issue. I always hate when game relies on sound cues itself, but do not offer you option to actually highlight those among frankly, useless voices for me. It doesn't help either that I'm hard-hearing in IRL, only my left ear is close to normal hearing.
That's part of the game - being aware of your surroundings. That's just something you need to learn.
