Are mods bannable?
The question is simple, there is a few mods out there that make the game playable on potato pcs, but im not sure if it creates problems on the long run, are they bannable?

Engine.ini are safe, that's stuff for adjusting settings on Unreal Engine 5.

Actual appearance mode is a different ballpark and I'd suggest caution. NetEase will definitely tell if Venom is packing 19 inches of throbbing venom.

Yes, someone made a mod of that, Bully. You aren't safe in Rivals either

i'm 99% sure the anti cheat will detect it and flag your account.

I'm pretty sure Anti Cheat doesn't detect mods but rather stuff being injected into the game. Could be wrong

it will detect any changes made to the game, malicious or not

The answer is always yes with these games. No large company will allow you to do anything to their game, regardless of if it's harmless or even helpful. People may do so and never get caught or punished, but that doesn't mean there is no risk in it.

if you have to ask "is this bannable" then its best not to do it because even with all these people saying "it should be okay", they are not the owners of the game that can go "no its not okay"

but by all means its 2024.... FOFA brotha

try lossless scaling. It's like $7 on steam. It upscales resolution nicely. I use it for stalker 2.

anything that changes assets

setting configs might be ok, but they are gona detect everything else forsure and either ban or keep kicking you from the game

the devs dont even care if you are cheating they dont want you not paying for skins, so they dont want you cheating in skins or modding in new user made custom ones, they want you spending that money.

street fighter 6 has skin mods and they are for the pc user only, the others playing in the other pc wont see... so I disagree about that. I play with cammy street fighter v blue skin, that looks better than the new costume.

not entirely true riot has a big third-party skin library and I've never seen them getting banned

in over 28 years of me playing online video games i have never been banned/kicked/suspended for simple config tweaks, but i have kids talking about they turned off mouse acceleration in the config and they got banned, idk what to think of that claim at all mines been off in windows and the game is not re-enabling it so i do not see the point of a config change for it.

I think modding is at least tacitly allowed. Given that all that is needed to mod is making a folder and putting files in it, it seems like its really easy for the game creators to disable modding, but they dont, so I think its allowed
