here's a list of kernel-level anti-cheats that I don't see anyone complain about.

BattlEye
Used in games like Fortnite, Rainbow Six Siege, and DayZ.

Easy Anti-Cheat (EAC)
Utilized by games such as Apex Legends, Dead by Daylight, and Halo: The Master Chief Collection.

Vanguard
Developed for Valorant by Riot Games.

XIGNCODE3
Found in games like TERA, Black Desert Online, and CABAL Online.

PunkBuster
One of the older anti-cheat systems, used in games like Battlefield series and Call of Duty series.

Ricochet Anti-Cheat
Introduced by Activision for the Call of Duty franchise.

FairFight
A real-time cheat detection system used in games like Battlefield 4 and Star Wars Battlefront II (although it is not strictly kernel-level, it often works in conjunction with kernel-level solutions).

GameGuard
Used in various MMORPGs like Lineage II and Phantasy Star Online 2.

Protect Game
A lesser-known anti-cheat system used by certain online games.

now about date collection. do you really care? your data has been collected 10 times over by various companies without you knowing and you are still alive.

I thought I was clear earlier but I guess I'll elaborate.

It uses an anti-cheat system called Eclipse, which is written in a blend of C++ and Python. It does have kernel level behavioral analysis going on, using machine learning algorithms to find suspicious patterns in player data. It's also got a database of known cheat signatures, which are constantly updated.

Additionally it's doing some real-time memory scanning and network traffic analysis to catch hackers in the act.

Utilizing a combination of AI technologies and network monitoring tools, the system actively scans and records in-game actions to detect any anomalies or suspicious activities that may indicate cheating. Through anonymized data collection methods and real-time monitoring.

Like, I said, just a lot of Y.A.M.S.

game uses StarkTech to collect data from your inputs and send that to a GAI to come up with new heroes for the game so it serves a good purpose

It's called NetEase Anti Cheat.

You can read about it and what it does here:

what does Y.A.M.S. stand for?
Monky Games Dec 11, 2024 @ 7:29pm
FYI, it works on Linux / SteamDeck day 1. So at least on Linux, it isn't running in the OS kernel level.

Almost every one of these has been complained about for the same reason by even larger groups of people.

You should have seen the sh*tstorm when we introduced BattlEye to Insurgency.

Same for EAC.

Vanguard has been in the news for being even more invasive than anything else.
