While I agree that Strange and Magneto do appear a lot. Why nerf them instead of just buffing the other tanks utility/survivability? Tanks (in my opinion) are supposed to be the ones that soak up damage and create space for their teams.
When does that start? All I get is Peni trying to solo tank on offense.
I don't like it. Strange is the dominant tank, Magneto is the alternative. This just kills the alternative and basically condemns you to Strange if you must solo tank, which you have to do basically every game.
IMO if they wanted to weaken them, Strange was the one to go after as he's obviously better than Magneto. Like, a LOT better.
I would much rather have seen a nasty nerf to Strange's ult which is 10x better than any other tank ult in the game.
Didn't think they'd buff his dps and make him even more glass cannon, though that is not a bad idea at all.
Mantis is barely touched, while C&D and Luna take more of a hit. I feel like she's probably #1 now.
Iron Man changes seem to be intended to redirect power from the team-up to his base, which is probably a good thing. Maybe now people will stop always banning Hulk.
Will be interesting to see how much the Storm nerf matters, falloff range certainly can hurt, just ask Rocket.
No Jeff buffs? #Sadshark.
I would have liked to see Mantis take more of a hit, but if I had to choose between one of the "Everyone around me is invincible" ult characters to remain broken, I'm glad its the one that requires actual aim and management.
Honestly i'm concerned the C&D nerfs might not be enough, they get their ult so ungodly fast that 600 extra energy requirement doesn't seem like it will make much of a difference.
Now we can all have the pleasure of playing Hulk and realising hes kinda mid.
Good.
Opinion:
I understand what they were going for with the Magneto changes. They want to prevent double shield from being a problem. but I don't think the damage is enough to compensate.
Idk… the heal lines not stacking anymore sounds like a big dealbreaker— a player could be dead before they can manually walk over lines.
Mantis is still the off-healer, her ult will just come up slightly quicker.
They nerfed the wrong thing on Luna, IMO. The duration of her ult is still a problem, even with the higher cost.
I don’t understand what you mean about Hulk— it’s his jump that keeps him perma-banned, not his team-up, and they didn’t touch that. Am I missing something? They also left Wolverine alone, which is weird, since he’s another heavy ban. Storm got a dps loss since her self-buff is lower now, so she’s probably not ban material anymore— we’ll see.
Was also hoping to see a decreased cooldown for Widow's kick as it's her only means of some sort of defense against dive heroes. Meanwhile Hawkeye gets his KB slash cooldown reduced to 12 seconds.
They're playing favorites, Hawkeye is already harder to deal with than Widow.
Witch needs her own shield when she ults or at the very least a faster ult. I don't think 100 extra hp is enough that she can still survive on her own without having to rely on a Magneto or Sue ult.
Regarding Luna, I agree, the ult will still be annoying to play around, it will just be annoying a little less often. This was the easy fix, it probably mostly does the job and for less risk than a more substantial rework, but it will still kinda feel bad.
I've certainly always heard the team-up cited as the primary reason for the ban. Certainly, Hull is not bad, but I don't think he's busted enough to blanket ban on his own.
