Game Intentionally Matches you with Losers
I play in a team of 3 people (4/6 + 2 randoms).
Our team comp is (Tank, DPS, Healer, Healer - OR - Tank, DPS, DPS, Healer)
We do really well and have fairly good stats and wins. We're Diamond trying to crawl up.
Anyway I noticed that intentionally the game with do 2 things.

1) Match you with players on a loss streak. (I have checked every single account of the duos and singles that have joined, and nearly 75%-85% of them have 3 or more losses in a row.)

2) Match you with players who "Will help your team comp". We get a cloak and dagger "main" around 90% of the time. This is due to one of our top players being Moonknight, which the game believes will be helpful as it fills a healer role, but also matches Moonknight with a team up. This is garbage and doesn't help our team comp at all.

Why? Why would the developers do this? EOMM is ruining the team comp because it wants to hold the hand of bad players and keep their tears from falling. It's really not helping our games at all. Just give us 2 completely random players around the same rank. Stop giving us players who have team up's with us, and stop giving us people on a huge loss streak to attempt to boost them. Let them fall.

in all my years of gaming, i have never, EVER, seen a game with a match making system everyone liked.

this is nothing new, its nothing that will ever change for probably another decade or so.

would it be nice if it did? yes. will it? probably not. because every dev has their own idea of what creates the best balance in a match up. they always leave out one primary factor, "is the player learning from their mistakes?" which is hard enough to truly quantify given sometimes players are just lucky, right place right time and correct decision made to make the most of it. but luck is not something a game can measure, nor science really. so when someone says they got the best matchmaking algorithm in the history of gaming, i scoff knowing full well its not perfect, or they are full of crap and ignore em.

This is true, but I just want the match making system to STOP doing things, not asking it to do more. I want 2 completely random players around our rank. That is not hard to ask for. They can even be in a duo team comp, but the game should not pretend to match us based on ANY other stats at all. That is completely rigging the game.

the system you described is the one present in Mechwarrior Online. whos player base says that system is crap, what remains of it anyway. as i said, it doesnt matter what tweaks they make to it, the majority of players will never be happy with it.

that said i agree if they take out the underhanded "give em a win so they spend money" crap i think wouldn't change the quality of match making and would feel less dirty.

also the removal of bot pity matches in quick play. or train the bots to be better and less obvious as bots. it can't be hard o train the bots off actual player data with as much as they are harvesting off us as it is.

If they got rid of the bot, that would be huge plus. Right now, i debate if i should delete this game or not.
