The Marvel IP is part of why people one trick

Nah; people one trick in every Hero shooter.

People generally find a kit they like that suits their play style and main it. Why wouldn't you want to play with your best character you've the most time with? Duh

A reason for 6 dps are when people who usually refuse to swap off dps pair with people who are tired of having to heal or tank for those dps.

I feel like you'd have more tanks then because there's a lot of super popular characters in the tanks. The Hulk, Groot, Captain America, Thor, Venom.... A lot of the DPS are pretty obscure. Like, Iron Fist? Never heard of him. Magik? Nope. Sure, there are some, like Star-Lord and Iron Man, but not all of them.

And the Strategists have a lot of nobodies. I bet less than 5% of the playerbase of Cloak and Dagger had ever heard of them. Definitely never heard of Luna Snow before. Jeff, not before this game. I think the only ones I was very familiar with were Loki, Rocket, and IW.

Yes, and there are insane amount of C&D one tricks. I have seen like dozens of players who have like 90% their game time with C&D. Definitely they are not playing it because they are fan of C&D before MR came.

Could it be part of it? Certainly. Is it the whole reason? Unlikely. In hero shooters many people tend to one trick and few can flex every role. Then you got to think for the people trying to get better and are new to the hero shooters they watch videos from coaches and pro players and many of them say to one trick. Honestly I have always in games with multiple roles stuck with the moba mind set. I learn at least 2 in each role to play so if I need to flex and usually I know most of the cast well enough to know how they play and play them effectively.
