I'm pretty sure that console players do have the option to choose between Crossplay or no crossplay.
It's rather the other way around that it's unfair for us PC players that we are stuck with these players.
On PS5 and Xbox Series X, open up your settings settings and then navigate to the “social” submenu. Once there, scroll to the “social” subsection, and look for the top option. You should see “Cross-Platform,” which is ticked on by default. Turn it off to disable crossplay and ensure that you only ever match with players on your console ecosystem. (Just know that this will disable your ability to play with friends or receive invites from other platforms as well.)
On PC, you’re out of luck. There is no option for PC players to turn crossplay off in the settings menu. It’s unclear exactly why this is, other than NetEase Games wanting to ensure there is always a healthy matchmaking pool for quick match. (It’s worth noting that, in Marvel Rivals, keyboard and mouse players tend to have a significant advantage against their controller using friends, which is perhaps why console players can opt out and PC players cannot).
I'm not against cosole players at all, some of them are playing better than ppl on PC. Neither I care about them in QP, this mode made for quick fun for everybody, for more sweaty and well-rounded games I just play comp (plat 2 rn). Anyway I'm always trying to do my best and win (QP is a good practice with its chaotic nature). Also I only play on PC (still kinda miss old PS2 days after school).
At the end of the day games are meant to be fun. Try to be positive, there are already so much negative stuff around us.
I like your perspective and also agree for the most part but this is a team based game, you play 6 versus 6 and if there are 3 people that instalock DPS, miss 90 percent of all shots and end up with the least damage in the lobby - while you are getting absolutely stomped by the enemy team as you are doing your best to heal them...
It's only bearable for a few games, when there is a pattern you begin to wonder why we don't have the option to get rid of these players.
If I wanted to play against PlayStation players while eating Pringles, changing my kid's diaper and watch football on the side I would have played on PlayStation.
I expect to play with and against players that are at least also playing the game, and not doing other things. If this is too much to ask then what the ♥♥♥♥ is the point of Quick Play?
'But console players can disable-' Yea, cool. Console players are undeniably worse than PC players because Mouse and Keyboard are vastly superior. That's just a fact, not shade to the Console players. They DESERVE the choice between fair matches and more difficult matches.
No feelings attached. Disagree.
Consoles are inferior to PC. Console players either play an even playing ground or reduce their queue times while going against much harder opponents.
Zero reason to let PC players disable Crossplay because most people ask for this BECAUSE of feelings.
'I lost with console players on my team! Let me turn it off!' or 'The enemy team won with console players! Aimassist op! Disable crossplay!'
If the fact that console players are ruining PC players' experience, isn't it kinda nonsense that we don't get to turn it off then?
I'm not blaming console players for my loss, but I'm not happy seeing them play in my games, missing every shot, griefing their team - regardless what side they're on...
Personally I want to turn off cross-play because the aim assist on playstation is ridiculous... I'm tired of feeling aimbotted by winter soldier players on playstation. I suppose everything is "feelings", but that doesn't make it incorrect... like, I feel like I'd enjoy the game more if I could quickplay without having to tolerate overly strong aim assist players snapping onto me during frantic movement like 90% of pc players can't do on a consistent basis. Either aimbot is being used on consoles pretty frequently (unlikely) or I'm seeing aim assist helping A LOT.
After making it a point to pay attention to end of game stats and who is on xbox-playstation-pc, I can confidently conclude one of two things: A) playstation players are just universally more skilled, talented and consistent than xbox or PC players... or the more likely option of B) aim assist (particularly on playstation for some reason) is very strong and their attempt to balance the environment for console players against the superior control scheme of mouse and keyboard has backfired and they've actually broken the skill curve. As it stands now, the most elite players are usually on PC but at middle skill ranges the aim assist is making console players significantly better than their equally talented PC counterparts.
I highly recommend playing ranked, even if you don't care about your rank, since there u don't have crossplay at all, however there are still some weirdos playing on controller and ruining their team's fun by throwing the whole game with their terrible aim since they don't get aim assist
