nemesis system was novel and pretty unique, while play of the game has been a thing in sports for decades (centuries?) so blizzard would basically be picking a fight with ESPN and every other sports organisation that uses the concept
It's absurd they don't let you. Pretty much every other game lets you just leave as soon as the match is over but Rivals blocks the menus from coming up and you can't skip anything.
Rivals approach is good - there's a short MVP flash and that's it. Those who want can watch highlights on their own volition.
