I like that decent scores and nearly a half million active players on just Steam is somehow a "flop or meh" lol It doesn't need to match up to what OW was doing, OW was hype back when the genre was much fresher, but now it's well trodden territory and MR is doing fine so far.

I really question why you care so much. If you enjoy Overwatch play it. If you enjoy Rivals, play it. I really question why people get so held up on these things. It's kinda pointless.

Many games with high "metacritic" score actually suck because paid media reviews. Things like CoD copypaste annual rehash get high score, all due to "popularity" and mainstream in general. There's good examples of this last year and this year alone. (Gollum and Suicide squad).

There's only 1 game reviewer I follow due honest opinions and actual insight into game itself, and that's Gameranx.

I mean theres several reasons why the OP's points are silly even if you take Metacritic seriously. For instance, theres like less than 10 reviews for Marvel Rivals on those aggregate sites rn which tells me that the reviews arent even all out yet. lol

Nice bait. If you really looked at how Overwatch 2 is doing lately, you can see this game is a breath of fresh air for most people. Overwatch 1 was a stellar game. Overwatch 2 was originally designed to be a PVE expansion with some story. And what did Blizzard do?

Lie to everyone and cancel that. Overwatch 2 is a boring mess that's been dying for awhile and the only people sticking to it are the ones hoping they can get a fix for the Overwatch 1 days.

If you like Overwatch 1-2 cool, but don't come here saying that Marvels will fail just because it's a "copy cat" of Overwatch.

Time will tell. But I see this game doing well. While Overwatch 2, has been gradually dying.

Hell, a lot of the pro players have been jumping to Rivals.

The reason why Marvels will succeed is because OW chased off 90% of their player base with a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ bait & switch sequel and a role queue that causes matchmaking to take forever. OW2 has had a max of 70K concurrent players (On steam), Marvel Rivals has yet to drop below 100K since launch. Obviously the game is new so it will be very popular for a while, but the fact that its worst player count is already more than double OW2's best, it's pretty clear that Marvel Rivals isn't the knock off, it's the upgrade
