Game went past 10 million players total at 72 hours after launch so it's probably the most successful Marvel game launch ever on consoles too.
It might not get as many downloads over time as Spider-Man from 2018 but I wouldn't call this a flop just based on the launch numbers. You have to understand that Marvel games typically have a niche audience and only rare examples ever reach the mainstream audience. This game has done that.
And guess what? "Overwatch is done." Kaput. It’s deader than a T-virus zombie in the middle of Racoon City’s outbreak.
Now, here comes the real deal: Marvel Heroes is the closest thing we’ve had to Overwatch in nearly a decade. That’s why people compare them. Don’t even start with games like Paladins or some other dumpster fire. Marvel Heroes is here to stay, whether you like it or not.
So, do yourself a favor: leave Overwatch where it belongs—in the past. Fanboying over your ex? Not a good look. Time to move on, champ.

People are comparing this to Overwatch because it IS the replacement for OW. OW is dead in the water twice over. NetEase saw that OW's "Popular hero shooter" slot was available, and they took it

Taken from your open critic link. Seems fairly favorable to me, and the least favorable reviews are literally holding the fact it is an OW clone against it, while largely ignoring the gameplay.
