the obnoxious directx 12 problem (IYKYK)

I'm not a big gamer, but this game intrigued me, so I got it. I was so excited to play it... and I got hit with that "Direct X 12 is not supported on your system" message. Needless to say, I want to figure out how to fix this just so I can play this dang game.

Just for context, I got my computer in 2017 and it's still working. I'm not a tech-savvy person, so to me, this is confusing. Will it run?

that's unfortunate, because this game captured my interest and I wanted to play it.

game is based on UE5 which means dx12 ready hardware is a must.
