FAR Too Many Strategists Play As Duelists and Put Healing On Low Priority If At All

I'm seeing this CONSTANTLY. It's driving me insane. I'm right infront of them on low health and they're doing damage instead. I press the "need healing" button and they ignore me to hold right click on Jeff and play frontline and then die. They never look to their left or right, mostly ignore their team and just focus on damage.
I can't even say anything to them about it or I'll 100% be reported and banned if I do it enough times because that's how games like this work.

So not only does almost nobody want to play Strategist, but the people that do just play them like Duelists and focus on doing damage above all.

I'm getting so tired of this. It makes it suck to play Strategist myself because the other one is going to be mostly doing damage and I'll have to keep the team up by myself.

I'd rather have a healer that gets in there and deals dmg and neglects healing sometimes than one that spams heals and deals 0 dmg. You can't outheal all the damage anyway, so focusing solely on that is futile.

The role is called strategist, not healbot.

As someone that comes from Overwatch, this is a very Overwatch-player thing to say.
"It's called Support not Healer"
They say the same thing over there as an excuse for letting their entire team die and doing almost no healing, because they really wanted to play dps instead.

Which is the same thing happening here. People playing Strategist that really just wanted to play Duelist instead, but know that someone has to play Strategist, so they pick it and barely heal because they didn't want to play it.
They wanted to run around as Psylocke or Iron Fist.

Report them for throwing.
After a match go to the friendslist thing and go to the recent players tab; from there find their name, click on it, click Report Player and select Throwing.
If healers/support/Strategists refuse to heal, they are throwing the match, since we expect heals from them.

That's cool, but my original comment was for OP. They're complaining about not enough healing and then listing excuses why they don't want to heal either.

Healing is fine, but some of us get tired of having to switch every single match because other people just want to do whatever when they pick last. Last to pick means you choose the needed role.

Im really enjoying the healing in this game. So far loving Mantis/cloak&dagger.

But mantis has to wait for the heals to recharge especially in a push and sometimes when players swarm together the wrong person gets the heal and on cloak&dagger i will admit sometimes if i get a support or dps blinded i do try focus them for the extra damage but only if i feel the team can survive.

Also im not chasing after you to heal if you push too deep on your own or abandon the objective, its hard enough trying to heal people who insist on running behind walls and pillars.

I have done no such thing? Do NOT put words in my mouth. Saying that "playing strategist isn't fun when the other strategist is off dps'ing" is not an "excuse to not play it" I swap to play Strategist a lot. I play the role more than any other.
Sometimes I want to play something else though, like Thor or Starlord.

I hate how nobody is allowed to complain or they're "just a salty whiny duelist main".

I left Overwatch to come here because Overwatch SUCKS and all of the same annoying sentiments came over here as well.

You realize that pick order is just based on loading time, right? So whoever has the fastest CPU/GPU gets first chance to pick. So you want the game to literally enforce 'poor people have to pick healer/tank?'
