Battlepass progress is awful
I was going to buy the battlepass, then I realized I gotta do asinine challenges daily to unlock what I want instead of just playing when I want.
Hard pass, lost a sale lol.

The challenges aren't bad, they are usually done pretty easy in about 3 matches.

The problem is you have to wait for the next batch to cycle to continue working the battle pass. Its a PITA

Now I've heard the battle pass never goes away, so if thats true then thats pretty cool as you can simply work on multiple battle passes at once as you please. Time will tell I guess.

That only works for unemployed people and children who can play multiple games every day. If I wanna complete it over a weekend, it's impossible.

@heatnixx That is mathematically and factually incorrect. If you wait until the last weekend of the season pass before the new one comes out, you will have all of the quests that unlock every day, available at once, and if you spend 2 days playing, you will be able to unlock everything. Also, as Trip said, usually if you log in daily and do about 3 matches, you will clear most if not all quests. Now if you think 3 games 5-10 min each every day is too much, thats not the games fault :)

>I enjoy timegated content on the thing I paid real money for because... ummm I just do, okay?

Okay so 1. the challenges are extremely easy they can be done in one or two matches

2. You can do them on bots so if you're so bad that these challenges seem hard then just go do them against AI.

I work an extremely intensive job and only have a few hours a day to play and I have gotten them done with no effort whatsoever. If I can do it, anyone can do it.

The pass never expires. you can finish it in 2 years if you want.

@Heatnixx Im sorry, i did not realise this was your first online game. So just very quickly, every game out there with a season/battle pass, works more or less the same (restrictions may vary) but they are all ''timegated'' content, to keep you earning something new every now and then until the end of a season/battle pass season. Hope that helped with the confusion. Just to make sure, SP/BP is not something you buy and you get everything immediately. It has never worked like that.

BP is permanently. You can finish it whenever u want.

Sorry, I clearly didn't account for you being ESL so allow me to further clarify;
Dota, The Finals, Siege, Fortnite, and countless other games I can't quite recall at the moment, all give you progression per match played. Progression is not capped to limited, daily missions.

Meaning if I decide to play for 12 hours straight on a Saturday, I will be progressing the battlepass and unlocking skins the entire time. This does two things:
A- Rewards you constantly for playing the game.
B- Allows you to progress battlepass at your own pace.

Since you seem generally inexperienced with game monetization, and online gaming, I should also point out that Marvel Rival's permanent battlepass design is nothing but a carbon copy of Helldivers 2's battle passes.
However, for some unexplayable reasons they decided to instead make battlepass progress locked behind timegated, daily missions. This accomplishes 3 things:
A- Fails to reward player for extended play sessions.
B- Punishes early buyers and rewards late buyers who can unlock it all in an extended play session
C- Punishes players with limited time on their hands who would rather play what they enjoy rather than complete asinine challenges.

Lastly, the design also fails to account for the fact that the game is now in a very competitive market, where FOMO drives sales and games lose large chunks of playerbase weeks in. By not rewarding players with the battlepass on a constant basis, it fails to keep the customer engaged. Clearly this is exemplified by the fact that I, an avid battle pass buyer, was put off from purchasing it and the company failed to make a sale, due to its design.

Now you might rule out my experience as singular and therefore not a good market indicator, however;

https://www.reddit.com/r/marvelrivals/comments/1h7pxwy/it_sucks_that_the_battle_pass_doesnt_give_you/

Reddit has many threads, some with thousands of upvotes, on the overall community dislike for the battlepass design.

Hopefully this has cleared any doubt. If you require, I can also attempt to translate it to your native language. :FH5Kudos:

helldivers 2 runs this same concept with their battlepasses and its working just fine. take your Ritalin and some time.

Helldivers 2 gives you medals on mission completion. Marvel Rivals does not. The medals' equivalent is instead given on a daily challenge system, which stops rewarding you once they are complete. Are you sure you actually played the game?

I'm 99% sure this is actually a bait thread.

It's crazy to me how no one in this thread except OP and Trip can understand the want to progress a BP in the same way most other games do it. I swear, the people on this forum are allergic to (minor) criticism of their new favourite game to the point that they intentionally misread posts and are somehow defending such an easily changeable gripe. Is it so crazy to ask that a BP works the "normal" way instead of this obtuse play 30 mins then log off style? Is this a gacha mobile game where I do my dailies and log off, or is this a live service team shooter?

Yea it sucks and people here saying you can finish it whenever.....

Sorry but why when a new battlepass comes out would i want to spend the earned currency on the old one & constantly be lagging behind as its way too slow to get and only from missions. They need to give BP currency for matches even if its like 1-5 BP currency earned its still better than waiting for the missions.
