Pre-loading shaders
Is this the new game now? Every time I open the game I gotta wait a decade for the shaders to load otherwise my game doesn't wanna run. Even after loading them it still runs terrible now like when I hover over any hero in the selection screen and they are not fully rendered ever and freeze the game to load the assets, is that not what happens when I open the game or when the game takes a year to load the shaders. Then whats the point of doing it (Even more than once, should be a one and done really)

There was a new update earlier in September, but they put out another one for Battlefield 6 and it was taking over an hour to preload shaders. Now I've updated the driver they're loaded before I even get into the game. I wish there was a button on the launch page telling you there's a new driver to update, because I don't have them set to do it automatically and it's causing problems for loads of people.

preloading shaders is such an old concept i dont know how these ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ got away with including it in a title as big as this, the dev team is so piss poor when it comes to optimizing and they chose ue5 because it is the easiest and laziest engine
Im having the same issue, before this update the game was running fine. and your right it takes like 20 minutes to pre-load shaders. so now playing the game means i have to start it up and then stay busy for 20 mins with something else or ill experience the issues warned about
same problem, takes 30min to pre compile shaders, before the update it was quite quick

And even after that the game is still slow, then reboot, and another re-compile for 30 mins, which doesn't do anything to solve the perfomance, compared to the previous patches.
I had a similar problem. I verified the integrity of the game files and updated my NVIDIA graphics card driver, and the problem was resolved.

(Before, I'd open the game, it would take a long time to compile the shaders, and it would still crash a lot, and every time I restarted it, I'd have to reload the shaders from scratch.)

I just did this and it fixed it, thank you!
try -PSOCompileMode=0 in the steam launch options. For the old preloading shading screen.

If this causes you to crash when playing, try -PSOCompileMode=1

and
Go to steam launch options and input: USEALLAVAILABLECORES
without dashes
