The ranking system is basically garbage with no real proper rank, 100 points and 3 divisions each simply DOESN'T WORK . Look at dota2 that is how rank is done properly with true mmr, glicko system and so on.
Casual ahh game
Even with rank reset, negative 45% WR people still make it to GM and the rank is still clown
100 points, 3 divisions SIMPLY DOESNT WORK. Game doesnt have any proper glicko, nor anything to put player , check for player skills and put them in the right skills MMR after 10 games. Simply going rank up 1 rank by 1 rank is NOT HOW YOU DO RANK.
All in all though, I hate the idea of rank resets, it promotes grind rather than skill. I would prefer something similar how CS handling ranks. It's way harder but also you have unlimited time to do it.
But it make 1000 sense for a chinese game where they want to keep retention. Basically a money machine software way to milk casual game
Again, I agree. Considering the context of resets are already happening makes sense. Also I disagree with the second sentence. It doesn't need to be a chinese company, there are plenty of examples from the west. Seasonal content is the new trend, and it's a trend because dumb players buys into it.
Dropping people's ranked is just part of the design to make you work through that treadmill again.
Well, it's about the worst way for retention that I could possibly think of. It's pretty much the one flaw this game has, and the one flaw that will make me stop playing.
You know what I think? I think most of you got one account to GM3 and then you've been smurfing the rest of the time. Guess what? Time to get back on that main account and prove it wasn't luck. Make no mistake, that's what people are actually afraid of and that's why they're actually malding and seething.
The rank reset is fine. It's probably even a good idea. Hell, I even get my skin for hitting gold earlier than I thought.
