Why on god's green earth do we need a mid-season rank reset?

Saw the dev talk. 6-div drop every season is fine it's whatever, but why the hell do we have to all drop 4 divisions MID season? Literally give one single reason why this is needed? The only mode worth playing in this game is ranked cause QP has bots and forced crossplay on PC, and now it's kinda pointless to grind ranked at least for the first half of a whole season

EDIT: NVM lmao they took that shi back immediately. Discussion over everyone go home. Devs are not braindead they took back the goat status.

But games are for fan, and this is just tedious.

Altough im not a big fan of reset mid season , its just 4 division. You can farm it easy couz season is long, plus we got another ranked reward. Not that bad i think.

The season is not actually long if you have a job and a life and other hobbies. I only got to play as much as I have so far because I've been sick a ton this winter, but in the summer I have almost no time to game at all.

Personally don't care, as I don't play it, but I will say I wasn't expecting a season to last this long honestly.

But the reward is from gold, which is easy to grind. Gm and above is for skilled players and need grind too, which have the second reward, crest of honor.

It takes longer to go from diamond 1 to cele then it does to go from bronze to GM

Its for engagement, give players a drop and they have a reason to play to rank up lol its stupid. They 100% using EOMM metrics, there's not even a doubt now. And it sucks, no skill match making just player engagement optimized bs. Playing ranked is completely useless cause whatever u do it will drop u down.

Nah it only drops you down if you don't understand how eomm works and how it can be manipulated to your favor..
