That's why we will never have peace in this universe.
Also that's the 2nd issue that you think these type of games are just like CoD. Where the only thing that matters is "kill count".
That's why you loose.
There are many reasons to play and not to play this game.
1) Hype, the game is super popular right now and people play such games no matter if they are good game or not, e.g. Helldivers 2 at launch.
2) People who are competitive in genral like this kind of games (PvP), and adrenaline rush.
3) They are somewhat appelead to Marvel IP.
4) The game is easy to pick up (clone of Overwatch, Palladins, TF2?) and quick to learn basics, but difficult to master, that add some sort of achievement or accomplishement to it. Also you can play it having litte time to play games in general, like and hour a day everyday.
Why not to play:
1) Game being popular atracts all sorts of people, often very toxic. Overwach communtity / player base, known to be very toxic, kinda shifted to this game. You will be exposed to them one way or another, community forums, voice chat, or text chat.
2) This is free to play game and focused on making money, it will employ all sorts ot mechanics and trics to hook you to play as much as posssible. The more you play the more likely you will buy something from the in-game store.
3) The game can casue emontional rollercoster - frustration for losing steaks or pity wins (where you effortlesly stomp other team), to some adrenaline rush joy for winning an even match. IMHO if I learned anything from playing Overwatch for few years, that is not to play such games at all. Or at least take a few weeks / months break from such games if you feel game became frustrating. It's not worth your menal health, and game is desinged to hook you in to keep playing.
Trolling isn't what it used to be. Low effort back to the drawing board.
Playing as marvel characters us always fun.
It takes awhile to find your main, Keep at it.
