Support is so degrading and infuriating to play.

Do you know what's genuinely infuriating? Playing support. Every game it's the same thing; tanks going in to 1v6, DPS standing in the middle of their team, all just acting like training dummies for the enemy team to beat around. And because I, and usually another healer, can't sustain 5 or 6 players shooting our tank or dps, we get blamed for it.

Like, I'm sorry I couldn't heal you through multiple ults going off at once, and I'm sorry for getting dove by their team, but I can't heal you through that. Support players always get blamed for not healing but I've come to notice the rest of the team all starts to complain about heals when we're dead, usually because we got focused with no one to back us up. I'm a support, and I can't always win a 1v1 against an enemy Thor, especially while you're trying to 1v5 the rest of their team.

Do these people even turn around to see what their supports are doing? Like I hope they assume I am healing, but that doesn't mean they shouldn't check on me, especially when I'm pinging the Iron Fist in our backline. Once us support players die, the rest of our team has no heals and they use that as an excuse to flame us when we were just blasting heals into the venom trying to 1v5 while also fighting for our own lives because they had a dive.

I main support, and I believe I know what I'm doing, and my stats show that. Numbers are not everything, but when I'm averaging 20k healing per round, ending games with 40-50k, and it still being a loss, I don't think that's a support problem. Despite top heals most games, and despite out healing their supports in most cases, us supports are always first to get blamed. Supports aren't miracle workers and can't save your ass when you're feeding, out of position, or running into their team head first like an idiot, that's on you.

I hope eventually people like this will reflect on their future deaths and think to themselves, "was that my fault for going in by myself, or the support who's coming back from spawn?" And hope they realize it's the first answer. I understand some support players play like absolute trash, I've had to make up for them sometimes, and others have had to pick up for me. I get bad games too, but 99% of the time I'm trying my ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hardest to keep the team alive and when we lose I get blamed, and when we win I get zero recognition.

When I flex to another role, even if I'm not the best, I always try to make our supports' lives easier by sticking with the team and staying within line of sight. Even if we push them up I know not to stray too far from the point because when I look back, majority of the time it's both supports sitting there while the rest of the team goes in and dies.

Had to rant, but I'm almost certain a majority of support players can relate to this entirely.

Yeah, bad teammates exist, but blaming everyone else while ignoring your own impact is wild. You don’t get flamed just because you're support—you get flamed because when things go wrong, you're part of it too. Playmaking supports exist for a reason. Maybe reflect on that instead of just ranting about how nobody appreciates you.

I wouldn't be at 50k heals if I was playing poorly. Numbers aren't everything but as a healer I would think healing is an important stat. Even if my team is playing bad, I'll still try to keep them alive at least, otherwise I get accused of throwing. Double edged sword. Again, as a support main, I know what I'm doing.
