SUGGESTION: Reconsider Limited time Skins
Love the game and all the Skins that are available, the new ones have been getting better, however there is an issue that seems to arise for us Skin connoisseurs.

The issue is that with limited time Skins that you can obtain i feel as though once they are gone there is nothing we can do to ever be able to get them, even if it's offered for a promo at 1 theatre company in 1 country in 1 state, having it so we could at least be able to earn it through game-play. have it timed exclusive so we could buy it at a much later date etc. means that those that acquired the promo don't have to wait or jump through hoops to earn it in game but it still allows us players to acquire them without it being permanently gone forever.

I mean lets say if you took the time to create the skin like these new seasonal skins, it would be nice to have it there for people to still purchase or acquire. You made them, they look nice, keep it there so we can buy it permanently.

FOMO makes money, so they won't stop doing it. Even if it's blatantly scummy.

And it's a flawed short cited concept too, For example say this movie skin or the closed Alpha/Beta skins or twitch drops etc. it's gone forever. But if it's a timed exclusive instead those people got it earlier for free with the promo, And then later down the track it could be added in store and make money with players buying them or as achievements/missions so that players can earn them with added game time.

it was made by design, one of the marketing tricks it's called FOMO Fear Of Missing Out

Devs threat u and other players as living wallet get used to it, there is no communication about it devs will never change, the only language they know is MONEY, attack their MONEY and then depend on damage they might give a chance to listen, so only solution is to boycot that type of games and never play again

ngl i even bought s0 battlepass, literally at the end of the season0, i got baited by:
1)FOMO hook
2)how much time i invested (650 matches were played minimum(after 10 level i was playing ranked all the time))
3)how far i achieved diamond 3, lord ironman with supperior ironman skin(got blue coins from grinding achievemnts+s0 battlepass)
4)and i thought this game is great and have future

damn how wrong i was...

It is called "FOMO"
And just don't feed it.
Corporations do what is profitable. This tactic has bee shown as profitable. So in the end....we can blame only one side. The consumers.

No we can blame corporations. Blaming the victims of psychological manipulation while leaving the perpetrators off the hook is idiotic.

It's fair to blame the consumers because the majority never learn. They just keep doing the same old tricks on repeat and consumers keep falling for it.

The only money I have ever spent on the game is the battle pass because it has real value at $1 per skin on top of all the other cosmetics that come with them, and the currency that comes with the pass as well giving a mild refund for the next pass and currency for the shop if there is ever anything released that I finally like.

I do not understand this desperation to not blame the people actually implementing these tactics.

This Give Away that just finished for example is timed exclusive so atleast players can still get it. Imagine if it was gone forever, according to a streamer they were even getting de@th thr@Ts but for most players we can still get it and it was just a free give away, keeps most people positive.

Because they only do that knowing people will fall for it again. If FOMO didn't bring loads of profits, nobody would implement it.

well you can blame both sides pretty fairly. Blaming just the user is victim shaming. its like saying you cant blame drug dealers, just the buyers.

That might be the first good take you have ever had on these forums. congratulations.
Fomo doesnt work if you dont buy it. You see how overwatch couldnt make enough money on its skins because FOMO wasnt enough to make people buy them and now they are going back to loot boxes? If you dont buy into a companies nonsense, they will stop doing it and try something different. Not that loot boxes are better by any means.

Even the word Consumer is corporate speak because these out of touch companies used to (some still do) see the investors as the Customers in public traded companies that they pitch under delivered ideas and promises etc. And the Consumer is the pig you feed slop to.

However as technology has advanced people are much more able to communicate their dissatisfaction without journos running cover in the middle, and that they can research products before hand easier due to the internet.

It used to be the case that Journo's could spark Revolutions by saying that the queen said ''let them eat cake'' and people took it at face value. Now days people have alot more Scepticism, perhaps it was propaganda.
