But if they release a skin i REALLY like, i'll spend money on it.
Those skins are expensive, i try to ration and be picky with what i get.
Just to name a few we can't disable crossplay on PC, we can't disable screen shake on PC, matchmaking is busted and makes no sense whether you play quick match or comp.
I could go on but my point is that I can't justify spending money on a game that's quickly having all of it's fun sucked out while rapidly being replaced with BS.
BUT to be fair it really is a fun game, granted you fix the matchmaking system.
other than that, the skins are reasonably priced since it is a f2p, they have to make money to keep servers and development alive. I was on the same boat, i was having a blast, it really is a fun game. Its just i started to notice certain patterns. I would play and have lots of fun, i felt like i had barely scratched the surface. It got to the point out of the 10 games i plyaed only 2 probably felt like they were balanced, and the other 8 well half and half, we got stomped or steamrolled the enemy team. Turns out its an algorithm to increase engagement time. Its basically psychological. Almost like gambling, basically getting addicted for that win. it felt scummy to the point in all my life out of all the multiplayer games i ever played i had never felt anything like it.
Anyways , i really wanted to buy the battlepass, and a few other skins as time went by, but i didnt get that chance. Heres to them hoepfully making it SBMM, and hopefully then every game is a close game, not a steamroll or a stomp like 80% of the games we get right now.
At least then i wont get frustrated that i have bad teams for no reason, and it would allow me to think maybe this next team wont be like that and we will win, so you keep chasing that win or winning team. Which goes back to the published papers that they themselves published. They want you on losing teams so you can chase the high(dopamine hit) of the winning teams. Which is really scummy. Why not just give us SBMM and let us have those constant close games that we dont know if were gonna win or lose. it would be a challenge. but alas, they want you to spend more time in the game and most likely feel good for buying a skin.
I'm still waiting on skins I actually like.
None of the skins I care about in the game, everything happens too fast for me to care about what skin does it. The only skin that got my eye so far is the new Psylocke one, the short black hair, dress-coat-like thing and a hat. But yeah, the skins are ridiculously overpriced as well so even if I were to accept giving money to this game, I'd probably never buy one.
BUT apparently a lot of people like them so who knows everyone's go their preferences.
I bought the battlepass from Season 0 and Season 1. I got the Thor Love and Thunder Skin F2P and the new Cap Skin half F2P.
So I spend 20 bucks for this game till now and have over 160 hours playtime. Thats 8 hours of fun per euro I spent. pretty good deal till now
When I hear someone complain about the price of cosmetics I am like, "I wish they were more expensive because you dont deserve your money."
Paying for cosmetics is reasonable in a free to play game. The main issue is the money players spend simply lining the pockets of managers, directors, shareholders and investors instead of being used to develop the game. And what little money is invested back into the game is likely to produce more skins, to make more money.
