Clear Shader Cache
If the problem still occurs, try fixing it by clearing the GPU shader cache.
Open NVIDIA Control Panel -> Manage 3D settings -> Set Shader Cache Size to Disabled -> Save the changes and restart your computer. (***this part didn't work for me although I am using NVIDIA***)
Open the path %USERPROFILE%\AppData\LocalLow\NVIDIA\PerDriverVersion\ and delete the DXCache folder within it. (===THIS SON OF A GUN WAS THE TICKET! The downside is it takes really long for the game to load so say something else causes you to crash or have to restart, you won't reload the game fast enough to jump back in your match.===)
Return to NVIDIA Control Panel -> Manage 3D settings -> Set Shader Cache Size to Enabled -> Save the changes and restart your computer.
Then, restart the game.
Hopefully this works for you, too. I had stopped playing the game for weeks because of the crashing and getting penalized for it. I literally got fed up with having to use a timer knowing I could play at most 40 minutes straight without worrying about the crash. Anything after that was a risk, so, I would restart or if I was in a match hope to finish.
after updating bios i played 10 games, got off to eat. then played another 13 games while recording in obs and never got a crash.
Doesn't bios auto update?
