Why did OAA players get where they're at and you're not up there? Because they play better. We all get the rank that suits our skill level. Bad teams happen but that's rng and happens to both sides.
Even if you are truly a good player with any given hero, you might miss out on the team aspect & counters. Reflexes and good aim only take you so far if you try to Iron Fist something like Peni.. Good players climb because they utilize all aspects of the game to their favor. Team synergy, hero pick for a map in question, gaming skills themselves etc the whole nine yards.
And then of course, maybe you really aren't as good as you think no offense intended. In some other thread a dude was playing Groot and got schooled by another person, the Groot player thought he was playing just fine until he was given some pointers.
You're not the main character, let alone the only one.
Maybe give it a rest for a day or two, no need to burn yourself out over a game.
That said, there's plenty of different combos that can work. 222 is good balanced take but other setups can get the job done as well. Just a while ago I played a nice game with Rocket + Mantis as healer duo, dudes kept the team going like nobody's business between the steady sustain & emergency spike heals.
When you have a good match with good teammates, invite some of them into your party for the next game (in the social tab, you can see recent players). This way you're less at the mercy of the matchmaker giving you competent teammates.
Most matches people generally just don't talk for me. But I've become used to that... 8k hours in Team Fortress 2 and most people never speak at word for entire matches.
I'd honestly said I've only had a few matches were people were genuinely whining, and I honestly used to that as well since I was there during the initial CoD stages and have always not let ♥♥♥♥ like that get to me lol. Vast majority of people are genuinely pleasant to talk to that do actually talk IMO.
Communication is also super super important if you actually want to get to high ranks IMO... You put yourself at a disadvantage if you just mute and silence everyone. But it is your right to do so if you want to.
And this game doesn't really seem toxic at all. The worst I've seen across 100's of games is some random dude going "omfg ur so bad". Toxicity as a phenomenon is blown vastly out of proportion in MR, moreso as often enough there's others who talk back to the raging guy telling him to take it easy.
I disabled VC when I was starting out but have since turned it on, not once has anybody said anything moderately nasty. Not once, even the level of "ur bad".
Comms aren't necessary, but they sure do help. I've heard calls for healing that benefited the team (me as strategist). Been in lobbies where we've swapped heroes, ppl changing mid-game when politely asked and so on. Obviously that will help the win rate of the players in question.
