No, OP is griefing by turning a team-based game into a completely 5v6 game.

You can mute specific players. Turning off comms with your team in ranked is 100% a grief move.

I don't default to muting and I'll listen to my teammates, but the first time someone starts getting angry or abusive I just mute them. Usually just voice. It's not worth the attention it draws from the team at that point. I don't even tell them. Telling people they're muted often just sets them off more.

It's much more enjoyable to play imagining they're just nerd raging into the void than to be constantly berated.

I get not wanting to be yelled at, but damn, people don't wanna lose their points, they panic, and say things they otherwise wouldn't, then there's the anger issue person that rages at everything.

But ignoring the whole team??? I would report and avoid as teammate in a heartbeat.
