Are Chrono Shields a problem?
I just finished a few hours of competitive play where I went 7-7 after a 5 game win streak was followed by a 3 game loss streak.

After thinking on it for a while, I realized that a lot of my recent games have a common factor: Someone, or multiple players, simply ignore objective points or refuse to trade off characters. A Spiderman goes 3-11 in a 2 round Domination match, Vanguards do not push objective points, Duelists run away from Strategists while being chased by the enemy team, leaving them both dead. Strategists are left alone to push vehicles while everyone else over extends, wasting time to farm kills. Random players will spam heal commands at full health...

The list can on and on, honestly. I only have a 41% win rate, with my KDA drastically differing between wins and losses. I have occasionally benefited from back teams, such as my first Gold 3 win when the enemy team completely ignored the vehicle after the first checkpoint, so I know this is not just a tunnel vision issue or matchmaking problem.
Several players lack general game sense, yet are still on the same level as players who know what they are doing and try their best to win.

How is this possible? Because every 4th loss is a total wash and you don't get penalized at all, while your teammates lose 20-40 points in rank. This allows players who don't play their character or the game mode properly to still slowly climb the ranks while simultaneously dragging down other players who can play their heart's out and still lose because of poor play by teammates.

Do you think the Chrono Shields are a safety net or a handicap?

Nope.

Chrono Shields are just a way to provide free dopamine up to plat, where they then turn off, meaning like 99.00% of the playerbase will get to plat if they play enough, you only need about a 30% winrate to get there.
Think of diamond as silver in other games. Plat = bronze.

This does mean you will be playing with "noobs" till you get to plat/diamond each season, but that isn't really a problem, its generally pretty fast if you just carry you can easily get a fairly high win rate and re-rank every season in a few days (or weeks if you have a life)

Sadly I can tell you I have a 36% win rate currently and the highest I've managed to get so far is Gold 3, so it is not enough to get you to Platinum by any stretch of the imagination. I'm currently now in Silver 3 again and on the verge of falling into Bronze 1 with another loss because it decided I deserve 10 losses in a row being matched against smurfs with 60%+ win rates.

Delusional post. If you watch gameplay from those ranks and you compare with bronze/silver and you non ironically say that are the same you have some loose parts up there.

Could be you are just unlucky with teammates.
Solution: you loose, take a break, do a review of your loose, get back, start new Queue.
Or your are not that good and think you are.
Solution:
Bring some replay codes here, ket people watch it and try to listen to them when they criticise you or show you what you are dping wrong.

How do I obtain replay codes? And how can I use them if you don't mind me asking.

On your profile under history are all your matches and when you click on one in the bottom right should be "replay id", copy this and you can send it to anyone you want.
Best thing for reviews are close matches and no stomps, stomps both ways are bad for reviewing.
