prime example is Multi-versus, Too weak? Just a visual frame buff, that'll do it! Too strong? Nerf them to hell! So far Rivals have been doing pretty good with it's Hero Balance when it comes to these types of games
for this type of genre It's isn't just devs making poor balance choices but the "Pros" that cry and whine when it doesn't go their way
For example, his combo which can very much 1 shot a person while they are stunned is pretty uniquely forgiving to pull off and no other character has something like that. He doesn't just "counter" characters, he makes them outright unplayable. His mobility is unmatched (not even taking into account unintentional stuff the community has found) and he can be back in the fight nearly instantly.
He's just too much of a "fly-by, KO, and disappear" character currently.
And I have. And I did, and that was with pretty minimal practice and not fully understanding him. He can be countered, but for the most part even when the entire lobby picks against him he can still get easy KO picks before he dies and dying is nearly inconsequential.
Which very much, when combined, leads to this:
