OW2 is too restrictive. Marvel Rivals has given me great freedom, however, in choosing and implementing strats. Team-up feature's a very nice touch, and MR wisely chose to avoid forcing a comp for Ranked.
I've enjoyed Rivals a lot since it released, but I also enjoyed Overwatch a ton near release in 2016. Had a lot of fun playing it with friends back in the day.
I think based on that, I'd say Overwatch since the novelty of the hero shooter genre was a lot fresher. I prefer Rivals to current OW2, though, by a long shot.
Depending on how this game shakes out, I'll probably like it more than OW overall one day.
Rivals runs at low FPS even when playing at the lowest settings while OW2 is very well optimized and can run at high/ultra on even old PC's, while still somehow looking better than Rivals. (granted that mostly had to do with its art direction rather than raw visual fidelity though)
Rivals is fun for me without all the social / political messaging.
Having said all that, why are you asking here? Try both and answer for yourself which is more fun for you. Do you need random strangers on the internet telling you how you should feel? Who gives a rip as long as you are enjoying you gaming time. You don't need our opinion or approval to justify which game has entertainment value to you.
But I do enjoy both games.
