Unreal Engine is LOATHE to have two instances of itself running. Ever try to start two UE games together at the same time? One will shut down, always.
The launcher's considered a separate program. It's not the main program, which is what it launches. So, it's a second instance of UE, and won't stay open as a result.
well no. when I uncheck the box the launcher stays open until I close it manually. and the next day when I want to continue playing the checkbox is back marked again.
So the game AND the launcher can stay open so it has nothing to do with UE being picky with how many instances are open
