I understand your thought, but I would like it for quick play too. I could put 3 heroes I am trying to learn for my quick matches. It would also help, b/c less people use microphones in quick play.
If they have it, that is a good idea <3
Same can be said of the pinging system, or the request for healing. It's all solved with comms, yes, but could be bolstered with enhanced features. It's also not a feature I'm aware of in OW1 or OW2 (haven't played in years though) so I'm not sure where that comment comes from.
It's just another way to bolster the team. Rather than 6 people explaining the 3-5 heroes they can flex to over comms in the minute they have to prepare, you can just naturally see, or hover over their picture to identify that they play certain heroes.
Anyway, I'll leave that there. I'm not looking to get into an argument or derail the OP. I still think it's a good idea.
It would be 'opt-in' IMO. You could leave it blank or on your one-trick if you want. You can choose to lock in if you want. It would just open up an convenient way for flex players to communicate their flex options. I would personally put my main tank, a dps, & a support.

exactly. You would still need to click & select a hero. It would just be a display above your selected hero to show your flexes/one-trick
lol all of your alternatives take more time. It is just a way for flexes to show what they are comfortable flexing to without adding more steps. You would still need to select/lock your choice in. It would just be a simple display of alternate heroes you are open to playing. You will still need to text/chat in voice.
No communication issues. It just streamlines the process & helps everyone see who is comfortable playing what with a quick glance. Everyone will still need to communicate who they are selecting/going to flex too.
More information in a shorter time cannot hurt & can always help.
Also, never played OW2. I played ~20hrs of OW in 2016, but that is it lol <3
lol my thoughts exactly... This is not related to flexing/team comp/communication at all XD
This could help improve communication by streamlining what players actually have to talk about (mostly in-the-moment strategy) rather than wasting precious pre-match time discussing who we're good with and how that can fit into our team strat.
I know, but this is not just who you have selected, or in your nameplate. It is to show who you are able to flex too. You wouldn't need to use it if you don't want to. I just know as a flex character & with bans, this would help streamline the process of team comp communication at the beginning of the match.
This is just a quick & easy method to communicate your mains without viewing individual profiles, switching selected heroes, etc. It wont stop you from doing anything you already do. This would just enhance the current experience.
