Feature Suggestion - 'Preferred heroes' in the selection screen before matches

It would be nice to have a feature that let you select 2-3 heroes you prefer to play. The selection could be in the menu prior to searching for a match. Then during the hero selection phase, the preferred heroes would be shown above each players 'selected' hero. It would help players coordinate their team composition and decrease the situations where players play a hero they are not comfortable with.

Edit: Never played OW2 & only played OW in 2016 for ~20 hrs. This would be an 'opt-in' feature that would mostly benefit flex players. This would also only enhance & encourage the communication that we already need to have. If you find yourself saying "I would never use this" or "I already communicate this", great! This is not for you, but it will help many players that flex around you <3

It would also be nice to use the 'lord' images if the player has them. I know it only means they are 'competent' with the hero, but it would be an added layer of help.

This is a really good idea. Definitely suggest it on the game's Discord server. (I don't think the devs bother much with the Steam boards, other than to update the pinned posts.)

So if someone wants to play Moon Knight, yet another players has them Pref. The player who never plays Moon Knight then dosent get to play Moon Knight? The goes against the Devs idea of choosing who you want to play. This is why you have at least 2 Tanks, 2 Strats, and 3 DPS already chosen. so if DPS 1 is taken...go down your list.

IMHO this would be waste of Dev time.

Like me i have Venom and Peni as Tank, C/D-IW Strats, Iron Man-Hela-Scarlet-Moon Knight all already selected. If both my Strats are take, i just play DPS. Or if i see the map is a Control point, i go Peni. Or if i see its a Defened Map, i got as venom to cause chaos. I dont care if a guy has 500 Hours as Star Lord..if i wanna play Star Lord...imma play as Star Lord.

Unless i misunderstood, I don't think this is a role lock suggestion. Merely a window for others to easily see what your main heroes are, and who you are able to flex to in case a composition isn't working.

communicate which characters you'd like to play as

it does, it's OP having a communication issue
"Uhh hey guys I prefer to play as X character, but can switch to Y character if needed."
but no we gotta ask the devs to spend a week or two to implement a needless feature that effective communication solves
