What do the little yellow symbols next to the heroes in the selection screen mean?

I think that's the indicator to tell you that hero supports another hero in some way. Scarlet Witch has the marker and gives Magneto an additional ability when teamed up together. Rocket does the same for Punisher and Winter Soldier.

I think they mean that sort of diamond shape which is just a seasonal character boost that is activated when the character with the symbol has their team up partner present.
