Is there a perma-ban for repeated deserters?

3 games today cut short by instant disconnects when a team starts losing. There should be an IP and HW perma-ban for repeated desertions.

There should be a penalty in ranked, not necessarily a perma ban, But quickplay is causal, leave it be.

People will just start to create throw-away accounts. And HW bans are not almighty, it can be dodged (with moderate level of difficulty). There's a point after which "harsher" punishment doesn't really matter. As OW shows, it's somewhere on the border of seasonal bans.

I just need a perma option for block people who screw others by leaving often from my team so I don't have to worry about having to pick up from their dead weight when I need random to fill in for a friend who's not active lol.

To be honest.. it'd be a good option, and also one of the few where the system cannot be (easily) abused. Normally, the issue with infinite block lists is that those who really try to win but still have poor skills would be added to block-lists of every player in every match they play and soon enough they will just be unable to play the game.

But a leaver? Yeah. Just track how many leaves they have during the season and then if they have 3 or more (or whatever number), prompt everyone in the lobby "would you like to block <leaver-name>?". Fair and square. And yeah, to those with "but I have poor connection" - this isn't an argument because it's nobody's fault your connection is bad - fix it first, then come to ranked.

I would argue 3 leaves in Ranked should be a loss of Ranked privs for the season. If life's affecting a player that much, they should stick to Quickplay or Doom Match or any other game mode and get their time management sorted without being a detriment to so many teammates.

I agree you should be able to block people from appearing in your matchmaking, IDK if it give me longer que times.

Longer queue times for me isn't an issue if it makes matches be better in general.
