Bad players will be bad at any role they play though, doesn't matter if it's DPS who just feed, can't land their shots and Tunnel vision. Tanks who push without healers or never play the objective or pressure the enemy team, Healers who don't counter-ult correctly or heal enough. All 3 can be bad just by not focusing enemy healers and defending their own healers. If the enemy Healers are dead 9 times out of 10 it means you instantly won the teamfight. It's sad how many players don't focus healers lol.
It's funny how it's only ever the enemy team that targets healers, it feels like half the time my dps are content to just shoot the pocketed tank until I get dove by the BP or a Cap, or an Ironfist and inevitably die or get distracted fighting for my life as I see the entire frontline crumble without support.
I put the most hours into C&D, and while some matches I definitely did focus too much on the tanks, I do try to keep my head on a swivel, and check on the status of everyone nearby, and make sure the whole team is topped up, even if all I can spare are a few left-clicks before I get back to healing the tank.
A good healer will overcome that and have the situational awareness. A great healer will be looking around anyway watching out for flanks.
If you do quick glances between shots, you can check your flanks for enemies and low health allies, while getting your crosshair back on your tank before the next shot goes through. Takes some time to get used to but it's a skill worth practicing. I've spotted many black panthers and spidermen zooming in on me.
But it really boils down dependent on the hero you're choosing.
From my experience playing all Strategists,
Rocket has probably the easiest way to provide healing to everyone because of his Healing Orbs being an AoE that moves around and can bounce against a wall, so basically I could heal a Duelist out of my LoS.
Cloak and Dagger probably has alot of healing abilities compare to other Strategists, being Dagger, you can homing heals, put down an AoE Healing Over Time Orb for Vanguards (Which you can then check your surroundings if anyone else needs the heal), and a Healing Wall, I often alternate with Cloak aswell, with that Blinding Wall to disrupt enemy Vanguards or Strategists if they are on the backline, and the good Teammate Cloaking to prevent further damage.
Mantis is an odd one for me, being a Strategist she must have to land a critical hit (Headshots) if you want to efficiently to heal your teammates, I rarely use her buff ability on anyone else besides me, that Heal Over Time is okay, I should've give this to a Duelist because of the Damage Boost, also to be quite honest, I don't know how to play Mantis effectively yet.
Luna Snow is interesting, you need to "aim" properly when you're playing as her, and her "E" buff can give heals if you successfully healed someone, I often give this to our Duelist, they will not just get free heals out of nowhere but also gets a Damage Boost.
Adam Warlock is also another interesting Strategist, you'd need to be careful not to waste his heals, even though his heals is a chaining one, it is very limited, his other ability is also very powerful, chaining with others to create a damage taken shared buff with heal over time, from his playstyle alone, Adam Warlock is best to stick close with other teammates, he is probably bad at healing Duelists whose roles are diving.
Loki is a hard one for me, haven't gotten used to him yet, his primary to heal is an AoE, effectively you must target the floor since it explodes, but his powerful kit is the Healing Rune he would place, it makes you invincible when you're in the radius, but his playstyle is more how you use his clones, whatever you're doing with Loki, the Clone surely do the same, except moving of course lol. Also, if you want to be more of a healer as Loki, you can use your Ultimate to steal another Strategist and use their Ultimate. Honestly, he's probably a bit difficult to heal most Duelists I suppose.
Jeff, I rarely played the bugger, but I guess you could placed bubbles sporadically so any Duelist could get to it instead of searching a Health Pack? His water spit is good I guess, makes you wet, I dunno.
Invisible Woman? I have no proper input for her yet, her Primary goes through both allies and enemies, so you could go behind a Vanguard while aiming at the enemy from the back of your Vanguard, I don't know much about anything else though.
