If the teammate is around a corner out of sight, shoot the wall and make it bounce in his general direction, it will still seek him out. If the teammate is out of range of your auto targeting, target the floor it'll auto target on its own. Shoot through doors, windows, gaps, whatever, just to keep that overextending suicidal DPS alive.
Learn to get swapping to cloak and disappearing into your muscle memory to get a chance at surviving ult. Hopefully your teammate gets pulled in and survives with you.

She has vertical mobility so you can float up to a different platform when you're being dived.
When you use your ult, you don't have to heal for five seconds, you can swap to cloak and single out the enemy healers during the team fight at your leisure.
Her ult stacks, one layer allows you to survive punishers turret, three of them on top of each other allows you to survive his ult.

You should never be missing as Dagger.
General tips:
1. Spend most of yoru time as dagger and heal your team from b ehind.
2. Use lightveil when the enemy pushes or uses cooldowns to boost your healing. Anyone hit by lightveil gets enhanced healing for fours econds so make the most out of it.
3. Shoot your Daggerstorm at your feet when you get dived. Save it for that as much as possible, but if your front line is getting smashed or an ult goes off for them don't be afraid to save them with it (possibly combo'd with Dagger Storm if needed).
4. Learn to Switch to Cloak to use your Shrroud to quickly get out of being Dived. His cloak is a better version of Kiri's Suzu and can be used to save yourself, teammates, or to counter enemy ults like Iron Man's, Magneto's or Wanda's.
5. Stay in Dagger as much as possible and focus on healing and then switch to Cloak every now and then to blind the enemy with your blinding wall.
6. Use Cloak only to finish off flankers or when you need to push with your team to finish off stragglers. In most cases Dagger is still better for finishing stragglers off because she has much longer range than Cloak. Use cloak only if the flankers are right next to you or if you are pushing with your tanks.
7.. To clarify... if you are getting hard flanked by Iron Fist, Spider Man, Tchalla, Wanda, etc. the play is to shoot bubble at your feet, then switch to cloaik, blind, then finish them off with your left click. That should give you the advantage, but if you are still losing use Cloak's shroud to disengage to high ground and regroup with your team. If a tank like Venom or Thor is diving you you normally will not be able kill them by yourself so use cloak to regroup with your team.
8. Usually you should use your ult to counter enemy ults. Your ult is a great counter to Psylocke, Bucky, Starlord ults among others. It also gives you invincibility. Use it to coutner ults or to prevent teamwipe. If the enemy team is low on health and your team used their cooldowns and ults already you can use your ult to wipe them or to area control to win a contested point.
That is the orthodox way to play dagger. You can get more aggressive and be more DPS -like as well but Dagger doesnt' do much dmg so I don't recommend it. However you should kill Iron Man as soon as you see him, always shoot Iron Man (and Storm now that more people are using her).
Tips; use the bubble to keep tanks up while looking at your dps.
Use your veils on cooldown. Best bet is on who ever is being fovused the bonus healing will keep them up.
Dont be afraid to use cloak.
If cloaks abilities arent on cooldoqn you are wasting half your kit.
Sure you can be punished for fading however fading is a 1 second i frame which can keep a tank or dps from dying while other healer pumps them up a bit. Also the movement speed can ensure they get a slightly bette rposition.
The blinds also make targets vulnerable. Idk the exact percentage however you can 5 man burst a luna ult if you blind her without ults.
The dagger bounces. You can use this to heal side hall dps and give them a slight edge. It only bounces once so lesrn some angling.
Your ult makes you basically invulberable. It also stacks both healing and damage. Though 1 carpet is enough to out heal 3 people. So stacking is more for dpsing down the enemy healers that your cowardly dps players wont target.
Another thing ulting on the ground is more oft than not vulnerable to getting dead or running into terrain. I suggest fading up into the air and ulting over top of everyone. The carpet will still be laid.
After ulting save your bubble(flame your dps for not standing on the carpet) use floak and blind to vulnerable the enemy healers and than kill them.
Hmmm the closer you are to a ally the faster the heal goes through. So if a tank is red lining being melee is the difference between them survinging and dying. As the dagger veil requires less travel time and so do the daggers. Using a blind is also not remiss to save a tank as if the dps cant see they are more apt to miss.
Biggest thing is if a tank is above 50% heal your dps.
If you get dove listen to sound cues. Learn them. React by cloaking to dodge out ults or execution dashes. Drop your bubble swap back to cloak blind and nurder the idiot psylocke.
If you dont have bubble use fade to get closer to allies
Never ever and i mean ever run from your team. You are more likely to survive dives by moving towards your tanks.
Running is a free kill.
Also have i mentioned you do damage use it to save your life.
If you are being dove and the other healer is beibg targetted heal them. It is better that they remain alive to ensure a wipe doesnt happen.
Lastly just cardy everything.
Dagger's lightforce veil should ideally be used on multiple people at once for max value, and should be used after at least a quarter of a healthbar of the target has been lost so the burst healing has good value.
Cloak's darkforce veil does like 50 damage on top of the blind and vulnerability debuff, so you should throw it out as often as possible, which you can do pretty easily because you can see the cooldown even when you play as Dagger.
During another support ult like Luna's or Mantis', you should be free to switch to cloak and focus on damage for the duration, but try to be aware of any stragglers that are not in the ult's aoe.
LMAO absolutely not, particularly Spider-Man.
DAGGER
1. Your primary hero of the duo, you should be using Dagger to heal with your primary attack.
2. Her primary not only heals allies, but damages enemies, while giving an AOE heal to allies nearby. If someone is is melee with an enemy, attack the enemy with your daggers to hurt them and heal your teammates (and/or yourself).
3. Your Lightforce Viel boosts healing on allies who pass through it. Use a veil before Daggerstorm during choke points to get maximum healing for your allies.
4. The closer you are to an ally, the more healing they get from your Lightforce Daggers, so work on keeping a safe distance from the main fight while being near your team.
CLOAK
1. Your primary attack has a range of around 20-25m. Damage dealt does not change by getting closer, so stay back!
2. Terror Cape blinds enemies and makes them vulnerable to damage, but the full animation needs to play out. Activating it and instantly swapping to Dagger will negate the whole thing.
3. Dark Teleportation is your escape option, but you can still be tracked from the black shadow ring. Be sure to find cover or get back to your team
4. Cloak is best to attack low HP enemies or enemies who are outnumbered.
5. Dark Teleportation can counter several burst ultimates such as Iron Man, Scarlet Witch, Magneto, etc. This will save you and your team (if they stop using abilities, including attacks) for a very low cost.
SWAPPING
1. If you're on PC, you can use your mouse scroll to switch between Cloak & Dagger faster than pressing shift. There are no settings to change for this.
2. Swapping from Dagger to Cloak and back is a faster reload for Dagger's ammo than her reload animation.
3. Use the Dagger Storm at your feet to heal yourself, then swap to Cloak for a short bit of DPS while healing yourself.
ULTIMATE
1. Eternal Bond is best used to save allies on low health and contest poinrss of interest to both teams.
2. You can cover as much ground as possible or stack your dashes on top of each other for extra healing/damage. A very common strat is to do 2 separate dashes covering an area, and then turning around to cover them again.
3. Use Cloak's Dark Teleportation to get high ground before activating your ultimate. The AOE will fall to ground level while providing you cover from attacks and start attacking enemies in the area as soon as you're done.
