Jeff ult issue, regarding swallowing and no one is sucked up.
Hello,

Anybody else have an issue were there are multiple people in the ult circle and no one is swallowed?

Had a few matches were I used my ult and people aren't being sucked up, particular match were 4 enemies were grouped i ulted and no one got picked up. cloak and dagger wasn't in the composition weren't any shields etc

Happened today again twice in a match people more or less in the middle of my ult and no one is swallowed.

Is there a way the camera needs to be angled or something?

I had this issue earlier, and by my estimation, I had swallowed up Loki's decoys, but not Loki himself, nor anyone else. My assumption is you swallowed legitimate targets who were not players, thus it came up as nothing.

I may be wrong though. I only started last night, practicing against bots, and my squad are going to upgrade to normal quickplay tomorrow.

I've only seen it in situations where characters get I-frames where they cannot be sucked up. Punisher in his turret, The hulks transformation and detransformations, Luna's snow dance, Jeff during doing his ult while I'm ulting him, ect.

That's really it, and there's semi rare and easy to control as well.

Ah. This too. I guess the difference is if Jeff acted like he actually swallowed someone or not.
Punishers ult and turret mode cant be swallowed.

Magneto and hulks force field ability can block it.
(actually they might only be able to just block damage and not jeffs ult)

Cloak & Dagger can do Dark Teleportation that can make everyone not get hit by anything
(If none attacks or use a ability when C&D use the ability on them)

Heck, even Iron fist can just deflect the ult.

Almost every character in the game has a way to avoid, block, and ignore any damage or ults.

The game is also finnicky with aoe ults and positioning, if someones on the vehicle for convoy, on stairs or different elevation in the ult area, or sometimes even just jumping or in the air it decides they are out of ult range, ive seen this issue with luna, jeff, and venom, and i think magneto may have it as well but its hard to tell because the damage drop off is so bad.
Thanks for the replies. Yeah if I can remember it was scarlet witch, hela and maybe mantis? but there were no shields or ults deployed scarlet didnt do her escape also hela the same they just stood there. After the ult animation was done I was killed by them.

Anytime I bring this issue up in matches people hand wave it away and call it a "skill issue" when I literally did the aoe right on top of people. The major issue is half the characters in the game can invuln/dash/double jump meaning most of the characters on a certain skill level will just invalidate Jeff's ult completely and it's not fair at all.

I know I sucked up characters that do NOT have the ability to get away and yet the game still says "no you didn't". It's a huge desync issue or perhaps the windup time takes to long to catch people at this point as they get 2 audio announcements and a visual to prepare for the ult to happen. I also think the damage while eating enemies isn't high enough as I wish killing yourself wasn't the only option to effectively using it.

I am amazed that they decided to nerf Jeff's ult to the point where anyone can basically just double jump and be fine with no consideration when Jeff is the only healer besides Loki that has to stop healing his own team in order to use it but unlike Loki put himself in complete danger with a chance to miss based on character ability/funky wall blocks (looking at you payload).

I do wish they would buff Jeff at this point to give him some love. Make the ult work faster on suck up, do more damage to enemies it sucks up, give your mates a buff once you spit them back out to justify taking them out of the fight. Just something to make it on par with how good every other healer ult can be (except Adam ;3;).

Yeah this is very funny as i am still being sucked up by jeff when i am not even standing in his ult zone
