assist as punisher???

so, i have 3034 KO as punisher, and 1 assist, how the hell did i get an assist? forever scarring my statistics :(

i dont know i have a similar amount of kills as punisher with 4 assists, simply stealing a kill would not have it considered an assist due to the game lumping that in as a ko just not an elimiation via final hit, assists are when a teammate gets a kill while you are healing an them, buffing their attack, buffing their movement, or they are under the effect of extra armor you provide. all of these things the punisher does not have in his kit

Yeah maybe if someone didn't take damage from the smoke bomb but walked into it afterwards and died?

Or maybe a very rare interaction with another character like Groot's E giving bonus health to nearby allies when anyone damages an enemy?
