Is quickplay matchmaking not skill-based?
Asking this because it seems like every match I play is far too easy, and whenever my team loses it's usually because one or two of our teammates are clueless on what to do. It feels like I'm hardstuck in really low skill lobbies, which makes no sense because I constantly have a k/d ratio of 2.00 or more. Does anyone know whats up with this rlly weird matchmaking?

It probably is, but it's a known thing that MMR in this kind of game can fluctuate a lot due to people picking different characters. The useless Widow player on your team might be a godlike Magneto player who is just on a different role, and the game has no way to deal with that.

As far as I know, there is no skill-based matchmaking in qp. Why would there be?
There's comp for that.

Also the game puts you against bots when you loose a few qp games in a row so that you don't feel too bad.
Why would it be? I'm being told constantly on this board that it's Casual, and thus winning and losing shouldn't matter?

If you want to play more seriously specifically, that's what ranked is for!

Why would they be serious just cause their casual play is significantly better than someone actually trying.

ow had the same problem. very bold of the devs to just ditch mmr entirely, I honestly don't see a point in playing quickplay anymore if theres no skill ranking whatsoever. There's so many people playing the game who don't really know how to utilize the characters' kits fully (which is not a bad thing, it's just a video game after all) and it just doesn't give me the challenge the way that comp does.

Not sure I'm understand what you're saying, But, If your getting upset about losing in a casual match, you're taking the game way too seriously. That's what ranked is for...

It's called Casual for a reason, you shouldn't be taking it so seriously.

Well I can tell you its not K/D based. In games like this or OW its easy to have KD of 20 or more, especially if you're tank or healer, where the goal is to stay alive, and especially in this game where healers can 1v1 DPS. Its more like its gambling based. You win just enough and just well enough to keep you playing.

When I mention k/d ratio I moreso mean lack of deaths, staying alive in hero shooters is much more important than getting kills. As a result of staying alive, we all win and have fun and be happy :steamhappy:

Call of duty have ranked and have sbmm in quick play so its normal now days to have sbmm in quick play matches
Quick play is cross play enabled. If you're playing on PC with a mouse and keyboard, you're going up against people on the Xbox and the Playstation who are using a controller. In other words, their movement isn't as good and their aim is about half as good as what you can expect out of someone using a mouse. If you want to experience it, try plugging in a controller and playing a few games. Most of your healers become totally helpless and you'll be lucky to land half your shots with a hero like Winter Soldier or Psylocke. Console and PC should never meet.
i don't think so? i've had qp games where i've played against diamond and gm players and my team is all bronze with a silver or gold player, so i think it's just random. i was hoping qp would be like norms in league where my mmr has me in bronze/silver so i play against bronze/silver players and not people 10x my skill level :sad_seagull:
