I would have a slightly different take, where I think Marvel Rivals confirms that Overwatch was an extremely flawed game and that basically everything I was saying about the game since beta was correct (ie, game needs a scoreboard, game needs healers to heal a bit less, game needs less barriers, heroes need to individually level, etc). Marvel Rivals is basically just "Overwatch good version" because it didn't make a lot of the questionable choices Overwatch did.

True facts. I only started the game last week or so, as the person I used to play Overwatch was like "hey, I was watching some videos on Rivals because literally every Overwatch channel switched to talking about this game instead, maybe we should try it out".

Character interactions? Like team-fights? This game plays almost identical to how overwatch is played. Half the characters are very similar. This game doesn't play anything like an MOBA.

You do not need to sit and farm for your economy, you don't need to allocate points into anything. There aren't builds and such. The only enemies are the other players. There is no item shop for different builds, no level progression on abilities, no mana, zero "lanes" or towers. Zero ads to farm.

I've seen several people say this. MOBAs like Dota 2 and LoL have lanes and mobs to help push forward to win. Rivals doesn't have any of that so I don't see the connection. Also Rivals is 3rd person not 1st.
