Maybe, maybe not. But it prevents people with a casual mindset flooding ranked
I'd argue it merely delays them. You'll always get more casual players playing ranked, which is fine as long as they are making a genuine effort (not afk, griefing, etc.)
I'd be very interested in a ranked mode that only allowed people to queue if they have say 5 characters to knight proficiency or higher. Or maybe three. Or maybe you can only queue with characters you have knight in. Something. Anything.
I had a guy yesterday who, after we lost the match, claimed he was just learning his character. Trying him out to see how he played. He locked in as first pick and didn't switch the whole match.
Ah yes, those that pick vanguard in qp and sit in spawn while watching a movie on their other monitor just so they can get access to comp. Sounds like a brilliant plan
