His gun is fine, i basically just see it as Orisa's gun and i'm used to leading my shots. Tho it's either i'm out of practice, or the hitboxes (especially crit) in this game seems to be smaller.
I just can't pause my healing long enough to fire my primary. I'm already bouncing my shots so each one gets to heal someone twice. I'll have to see what the new patch does.
Although doing good damage with him does have fairly steep learning curve with his projectile speed being super slow and switching between firing modes feeling overly clunky
His primary attack is good. It is not long range but you can shred tanks at medium or closer range. Assuming you can aim for squat. You want crappy Primary Attack, let's talk Dr. Strange. By far the worst-feeling primary attack in the entire game.
It's just that Rocket provides more value just spamming Repair Mode.
Not exactly OP, but would be a huge buff for Rocket, and Rocket IMO is already really good. Rocket doesn't need to aim his heal at all. So you can just DPS normally and then still get almost full value out of your healing while you're doing it. This would make Rocket a clear S-Class Support.
You can do this with Bap in Overwatch and you get great value out of him doing it, even though you really do need to aim your healing with him. With Rocket you don't even need to aim, so it is huge value.
Most likely bots too
The same thing happens with C&D. No one stands in the bubble.
OT: I agree, Rocket has some of the best cover fire and his kit lets you utilize it quite often.
None of it's lost due to accidentally healing, you don't have to switch forms, and like others said if you aim for their faces it melts people. And count your healing ammo. Plus, you can let someone die to your carelessness and they can't complain because you've got an ability for that.
I agree, his (Rocket's) healing output is insane now. Your primary dps is keeping the actual dps up and going. Damage is for finishing off low health runners or killing those divers that think they can take you out. I
