Which heroes are best to use to support team?
I'm trying to find some supports to main, but I feel like I'm not making much of a difference in keeping my team alive - mainly trying Luna Snow

I'm trying to compensate for their stupidity sometimes, to stop complete team wipes with my healing - but is there a better support hero to ensure that the team actually manage to at least stay alive so I can try playing ranked?

New to the game so just getting practice with the heroes.

I find Adam Warlock is the easiest Healer to learn. Other easy to learn healers are Mantis and Invisible Woman. Make sure to study their ability descriptions *before* starting a match.

I read and practice them in ai matches before even going to casual matches.
I just don't really get the tangible sense i'm helping compared to say...when i used to play overwatch years ago

luna is by far the best, 12 second teamwide invencibility except for very specific ults and oneshots, her freeze stun can easily net your team a free pick on flankers and can freeze shield your own flankers for free heals without even doing anything besides healing your tanks/rest of the team

she reminsd me alot of zenyatta. and i was pretty good with him back in OW1. maybe its just that my teammates keep bumrushing to the other team and getting wiped and being uncoordinated
i don't think any amount of healing will stop their deaths then

Healing feedback is a bit more subtle in MR. Usually theres a "whooshing" SFX (similar to OW2 but harder to hear) with it and you can visually see your teammates health bar turn green and increase in HP. Thats how you know you are actually healing someone.

oh no i don't mean that. i know i'm healing them. i can see it. but good gracious they all just die die die , and I can't really contribute much to making sure that they all live

i just wanna be able to reduce risk of team wiping themselves by being a good support is all

not even the best healer will stop that 0 10 spiderman/iron fist to dive the enemy team and die over and over, nothing you can do about it

You can up the feedback tells in settings for healing (or for yourself for getting damaged), and I highly recommend doing so if you main Strategist.

As for what to main - Can you aim decently? Luna and Mantis are probably your better bets.
Have difficulty aiming (and be honest with yourself- goodness know I cant aim well) - Adam Warlock, Sue Storm, or Cloak and Dagger are your best bets.
Are you a sniper and could main carry as Namor/Hela? - Try Loki. His kit is rather good for keeping your team alive and dealing damage. The Rune power (especially if you're good at managing your clones) can keep your team alive through ULTs if timed well. You just need to be spot on with your aiming.

Ah gotcha. Pick a Support who can provide shielding like Invisible Woman for example.

Loki is a guy who do as jokes at the backlines....

As someone with relatively high ping and cant aim either, i love rocket racoon to solo q heal. You have very good group heals, good escapes and survivability, can take diver by surprise with your minigun, and has a lot of revives with his brb.

As an old healer main in different games, you capability to survive is as important if not more than your capability to heal

i one tricked rocket to diamond. he puts out a lot of healing (also he just got buffed) and his armor pack station lets teammates respawn at it once so it's really good for holding points.
Unpopular opinion:
Storm.

Not Susan, I'm talking about the Weather Witch.

I can see why storm can help. NGL she's been responsible for nearly wiping out my entire team several times during the matches i've played so far

Rocket, Loki, and Sue are great at covering up your teammate's mistakes.
Those 3 are the spray and prayers that can output massive healing.
Also, you can't stop every team wipe with any healer. Poop will eventually hit the fan.
