Invisible Woman jump, doesn't always invisible?

First quick match with IW, very quickly became aware that she can't always save her double jump to turn invisible and escape even though there's no info in the description that says she needs to be out of combat to benefit (unlike the passive invisibility, which specifically says so). Anyone else notice this / figure out the conditions with which prevent invisibility?
