but this game i can look right at something and it will just ping something random that is closer to me or mark it wrong. Feels harder to do when in battle and you wanna quick ping a back liner or a sky raisin

I don't want to say "look over here". I want it to target the enemy I'm generally pointing at with one click which is the intention of the tool.
Also, double click ping is another pretty common way of dealing with things.
MR really have just done a bad job with the ping system, or the default settings are just ass.
You can adjust the sensitivity of the targeting priority for it in the options.
This thread is full of people that didn't explore the options thoroughly enough.
