You say: "It's just a game"
People hear: "I don't care about video games"

Like you might not care and it shows cause you clearly do not care that other 5 people do care and rather win than lose due to a team mate that really gives no fs.

People get hostile for less, so why is it a surprise that people might throw and insult or two when you are the reason why they are losing? Sure that ranked number means nothing of material value but it does hold mental value to a lot of people.

In my experience, mostly the ones who gets mad are guys who had smallest impact in game. Usually they are duelist players, blaming healers or tanks for not playing right way and in the end score they have barely over 7k dmg with their main duelist. Ofcourse it's teams fault their bad gaming...

Yeah, I haven't played a ranked/ladder mode in a game since my old Starcraft 2 days. I can't take games seriously enough to care about a rank or raising it. Whole point of playing games for me is to relax and have fun. Ranked directly conflicts with that.

Which is why I stay in my filthy, dirty casual mode that is quick play. I wouldn't want to basically disrespect other players in ranked that are taking the game seriously when I could care less. I recommend you do the same because it seems you have a quick play mindset and not a ranked mindset.

I can understand people getting upset in ranked. As with all co-op games, it requires everyone to be equally vested in a positive outcome. When there is prestige involved, and one (or more) players are just coasting (at best) it is detrimental to the rest of the team.

That being said, there will be bad days for even the best player, and as Galactica says, you can't win them all, so please? A little grace?

Lastly. if you were speaking of QMs, I'd totally agree. I pretty much stay exclusively in QM because I know I'm not a 'twitch' player, and would be of limited (if not negative) use in ranked. However, the amount of vitriol in QMs... wow.

What about people like me who don't have e-sports aspirations, but want a higher quality of play than the absolute dregs found in casual?

ranked is literally the "sweaty tryhard who takes video games seriously" mode, why are you surprised?
I disagree. Ranked is a cool way to learn more about the game and improve at it. I don't get angry at it like some teenage boy and neither should other people. It is just a game though and people should have fun with it in the end

Who are you to decide who and what should people get angry? Who gave you this power?

If it's someone hobby and they are passionate or competitive about it, some will naturally get angry and frustrated and there is nothing you can do about it.

Either you accept it or go on a crusade as the new Jesus you seem to be since you seem to be able to decide at what people can get angry at.

I didn't, but it's no one business what people get angry at as long as they don't promote hate or violence.
Plays mode for people who care, blames people for caring.

Such logic.

Yet you care enough to waste time complaining about it to farm awards which is ultimately the biggest time-sink in the entire branch.

Well it is true because thats your experience so it is not for anyone else but you to state if it's true or not. In my case however I only partially agree. I do get fair share of those insta lock dps people complaining that I did not heal them (over 20k healing usually by the way), while they are diving somewhere with no one else following and I have to keep track of 4 dudes all trying to hide in different corners of the earth... that being said, I get pretty reasonably pissed at people myself and let them hear it at times cause ffs, it is very fun to be forced into perma tank/healer role, then doing a job of 3 people and then losing cause two people refuse to contest the point cause "I would die" or some stupid ♥♥♥♥ like that. Like yes, 12/10 punisher whose entire gameplay was to catch attacks and die despite me dropping tripple healing on you, indeed you would have died but you would have held it for a few seconds, long enough for me to get there and turn the tide.... but nope, you rather not die but lose instead, big brain.
Listen, my rabies isn't going to froth itself.

Oh wait, nevermind.

The phrase “it’s just a game” is such a weak mindset. You are ok with what happened, losing, imperfection of a craft. When you stop getting angry after losing, you’ve lost twice.

There’s always something to learn, and always room for improvement, never settle.

Playing video games is not a "craft" lmfao. Do you sit in the shower and froth in rage over matches you lost years ago???
